That’s so old, when the first Avengers used to have secret identities and people thought Iron Man was Tony Stark’s bodyguard. “Everyone knows that. Everyone but you, apparently. Well, now you do.” That should be clear; she isn’t getting classified information nor a special treatment so fast. “No, I do not. I’m the greatest archer in the world, so I never miss.” He says this proudly of his training and experience, proud of his hard work to become part of the most famous group of heroes despite his lack of powers. He will never not show off this fact.

             the avengers were not on her radar.   she honestly doesn’t care,  nor pays attention.   those kids over at the school filled with people similar to her,  or that spider-guy.   those tend to be on her watch list.  the avengers were just some six-foot-ten guys fighting aliens and destroying cities.   not like she had anything against them.  they were just way over her head.   though she had one sitting RIGHT  in front of her, and that was cool.        “   guess i just don’t really know how these things work for you.   “       she shrugs, accepting her ignorance towards him and his buddies.

it just made everything more interesting---- made him more enticing.   sue, it didn’t really change her desire for him.   she still wanted him the same.   she was just thinking now;    an avenger--- one who is not a mutant  or enhanced in some way---  has to stay in shape.   they have skills.  he probably has a repertoire of women under his belt.   must be pretty easy to get some.   but he’s never had a college student, has he ?       she’s be new.  maybe he hasn’t realized that yet.  maybe he just doesn’t care.   if the latter, she’s just more into it.       “  well, i wasn’t aware i was graced by the presence of the GREATEST ARCHER IN THE WORLD.   “        she does a small bow in her seat,  holding onto her smirk.        “   it’s an honor  to be flirting with you,  clint.   “

             AS A CHILD, he knew the love of two, well meaning mutant parents. They loved and nurtured Wick’s abilities and showed no favoritism between himself or his non mutant brother. But they were pacifists. They lived their lives hiding their mutations and not fighting for the rights of others they watched be dragged from their homes and persecuted for being homo-superior. Wick would never made that mistake. His parents were dragged out into the streets and killed. Pacifists don’t win. They die. The rebelled, the fought, they continued to bring justice. This was the life Wick wanted to live. 

Wrung by wrung, he pulled his lithe frame up the tall ladder, pulling away from the chaos below. He barked a short laugh. “ I’m not a prince, dear. Don’t you listen to the news? I’m on of the villains, ” he grinned, his accent thickening. Up on the roof, he ducks down and moves quietly— trying not to draw attention to their new hiding spot. They aren’t in danger here. They could take on any threat but it’s best not to end up in the news tonight.

Bafflement and chaos still reigns supreme on the street below and he chuckles. “ Pathetic. In Russia, we would have all been dead. ” Not that it’s something to praise. The lax system in America allowed more room for REVOLUTION.

                her father--- he had no choice.   his mutation was not one easily hid like julia’s or her mother’s.   some found his skin grotesque, the way her mother said, it was just TEXTURED.   still a lovely man with a big heart, he knew that he lived in a world where he simply could not just sit and turn a blind eye.    she wonders some days if he knew he was going to die--- if he let it happen.   he was STRONG, he could have killed those men who took his life.   but what happened could not be taken back, an julia has accepted her future to be similar t her father’s.   she would rather die making a CHANGE than die resisting it.

       the news was a bunch of bullshit and they knew it.   julia just grinned, clicking her tongue at his response.        “   i think you’re acting a little naive, honeydew.  you think all princes practice the laws of DISNEY ?     you don’t think they’re bad people, just like you ?   “     she takes a seat, pulling out a cigarette she fully intends to finish this time.

    “   besides, you’re a big softy deep down.   don’t pretend like you’re some stoic russian bad boy.   “        exhaling smoke, she smirks.       “   i mean, you got that vibe and it’s sexy   but c’mon,   if you were as BAD  as you make yourself sound,   you’d be down there taking lives yelling    ‘ viva la revolution ‘   with blood on your tongue and fire in your eyes.   “       she knows because she’s seen  it.   not that julia is scared of it,  she just chooses not to live like that.       “   i’m sure you COULD, but it’s the choice not to that matters.   “         tapping at the ashes, she looks up at him, and the shadows taking his face.       “   so sit, my sweet prince, we’re gonna be here a while. mother russia will not be taking care of this one tonight.   “

       “Tinder?” It sounds like another social network by the way she calls it: Tinder profile. Clint considers himself to have a decent knowledge on technology but dating apps aren’t something he ever used.  He shrugs and carefully listens to her list of random facts about her personality or preferences. “Woah… hold down, PRINCESS.” There is more than one thing the archer disagrees with, but one in particular calls his attention. “Did you just really say cats are better than dogs? I would normally lose all my interest at that point, but I’ll give you a chance to justify such a daring statement.”

         He is really capable of leaving no chances for this to keep moving forward if the reasoning she offers is poor and stupid. However, Clint does understand the right she has to listen to his own profile. “Clint Barton. Better known as Hawkeye in some places. I’m an Avenger. Born in Iowa, archer since I was eight years old. Never miss. Dog lover. Blade Runner is a classic, I prefer Coke over Pepsi, Squirrel Girl rules.” He laughs at his own joke in that last phrase. If only Doreen was here to hear; in fact, he glances over to the window to check that she isn’t spying on him. “Do I look like a bad guy? Just said that I’m Hawkeye, I’m the one who beats them up.”

               of course the old man doesn’t know what TINDER  is.  that’s probably good, though, means he’s not looking for petty hookups.  men over thirty on tinder is... kind of gross.   and of course, he’s offended by her statement.   she rols her eyes and slouches in defeat.        “   i’m not sayin’ they’re bad, i love dogs.  cats are just a little more independent so like, if you go away for a weekend, you can just put a little EXTRA food in their bowl n they’re gucci. plus they got attitude and i find that much more fitting with me. dogs are great, though. i LOVE them a lot, too.   “        she should have known he was a dog person.   he just looks like one.

his list grabs her attention, and his absolute bluntness towards his state as an avenger.     “  aren’t you supposed to, like, keep that a SECRET.   i mean,  yeah, it’s great you told me because it’s   super hot   but aren’t there rules or something ?  “        and clearly he was big into squirrel girl, even though julia isn’t a fan of her views on some things.  she is pretty good at kicking butts, though.      julia straights her back, propping her chin up just as before.   she grinned at him,  enjoying the fact that he was just FEEDING  her everything.     “   so you never miss, huh ?   “      men being so sure about something was greatly attractive to her.   CERTAINTY.   it was powerful in her eyes.

       Maybe he only wants her to say it out loud, to confirm his suspicions are not unfounded, or maybe he wants her to put it in a way that convinces him to accept, that doesn’t sound too terrible. And she does, but it’s still not enough for Clint to say yes. He simply doesn’t agree with the idea of a one time thing with a girl twenty years younger than him. It’s tempting to reply: really? too bad, because I was looking for something serious. But then again, that would be a lie as well; he might not be looking for a relationship, but he isn’t after such a frivolous encounter either.

       He makes a pause after she finishes talking, looks down at his hands and then back to her. “Do you know how many times I accepted this kind of offer and then the girl happened to be a villain trying to deceive me? I’m not saying you are one, I’m saying I learn. I don’t even know who you are, barely your name and the fact that you study in this place; other than that, nothing. If you think I’d enjoy time with anyone, you’re wrong.”

                  now julia was not a WASTEFUL girl.    her mothr taught her better than that.   if you’re presented with a feast all to yourself,   you do not chose to eat for a night.   you continue to eat night after night until either it’s gone, or it’s no longer good.      at least,   that’s how she   saw it.   clint would be no different.    she would dine upon him multiple times---- no intentions to dive deeper than intimate indulges.     he was a fine meal she wanted to devour.
