When Maribel was a child, she had a picture-perfect life; her mom and dad seemed happy and in love and she was doted on constantly, up until the age of nine when everything suddenly changed.
Her dad lost his job due to staff cutbacks and struggled to find another, instead he would spend his free time sat in front of the television and drinking his life away.
Once he had drank, Diego turned nasty - hurling insults at his family and especially picking on Maribel when it came to her looks and weight; manipulating her to believe that she would never be good enough to be loved by a man, she was too fat and too ugly.
This escalated to using physical abuse against his wife and eldest daughter until Alessia decided she had had enough, divorcing him when Maribel was thirteen years old.
Her mother then remarried, a rich wealthy director; instantly changing Maribel’s and her sibling’s life forever.
During this time, Maribel had been attending singing and art lessons; using them as a to escape life at home but it soon became apparent, she was very talented.
Once she had left school, she attended Parsons to study fashion which helped her more when it came to designing and styling clothes.
As time has passed, she has managed to climb her way up in the fashion world, also gaining more and more popularity and being hired as a celebrity stylist.
