I've always likened that the White are to Issachar, the same way that Lucifer is to Walter and Merkabah is to Jonathan. Issachar's own journey, incredibly short-lived as it was, ended up being one of sheer hopelessness and nihilism. In a way, he and the White are both intrinsically linked to one another.

The White are, of course, not actually Issachar or any of Flynn's other friends; but phantoms manipulating his consciousness. All the same, they are entities using the likeness of someone close to Flynn resigned to their same ideals, and (ab)use that likeness to assuage, guilt, and shame Flynn. The choice for Issachar's likeness as the final White battle is poetic then.

Plus how White Issachar (what a name) speaks its final words in Issachar's clear, unfiltered voice. Just like how Lucifer and Merkabah do in Walter's and Jonathan's own voices. The parallels are monumental.

GOOD EVENING SMTIV ENJOYERS!!

After many trials and tribulations THE REMAINING 10 (COUNT 'EM! 10!!) missing manga of the SMTIV Dengeki Anthology, which is the only (currently known) SMTIV anthology, have been scanned and uploaded to the beautiful internet for all to see. I even did a little cleaning-up of the raws myself for anyone who wants to come in and fool around with that :)

All credits to the scanning and uploading of the originals go to discord user @chimneyantelope/antelopunny, whose original scans you can find here !

And my unprofessional cleanup attempt, barring cover stuff and the already previously uploaded manga, can be found HERE!

I learned a lot by getting to do this! I started out kind of shaky but by the end I hit a stride and figured it out. Once I get a good break, I might redo and reupload the first two using the techniques I learned. But for now, here you go! Enjoy this previously unarchived lost media of an underrated game, even if you just want to look at the good images contained within.

Using Masayuki Doi's height estimates from the SMTIV art book and comparing them with the game sprites, I made this height chart of the cast. I mainly did this so I could deduce approximate heights for Navarre and Issachar lmao.

For reference, Doi estimated that Flynn and Walter are between 175 ~ 180 cm, Isabeau between 150 ~ 155 cm, and Jonathan a solid 180 cm. Other characters don't have this though, leaving us with just the sprites to compare with as clues.

From this, I believe that Issachar is around the same height as Flynn and Walter at 175ish cm. And Navarre just a little taller than Isabeau at 160ish cm.

By applying this mod, anybody can experience the stunning HQ detail originally present within the game that was forever lost within the game's original stunted 244p quality. 【⭐How do you manually recreate smaller detailed assets like the Character Portraits?⭐】

In contrast to other HD Mods or Remakes out there using impractical methods to "upscale" character images, our team is dedicated to redrawing the original crunchy ~300px Character Portrait sprites within the game into higher resolution by hand ourselves (using the ~7000px Key Art as a base). And sometimes, we have to redraw certain sprites entirely from scratch!

➡️As one of the artists part of the team, I'm very passionate about getting those iconic "Doi style" elements that are present throughout his SMTIV art. Personally speaking, it's an honor and a learning experience to be a part of this project in being able to faithfully recreate his work with as much respect and care as possible. That being said: We're all basically doing the work that an entire dedicated team within a company would usually do, out of love for this game! hey now that it’s disability pride month can you please remember to include people with Down syndrome and other chromosomal defects into your activism. they’re so often left behind. I literally never see anyone spreading Down syndrome awareness that isn’t close family of someone with Down syndrome. They exist and they’re living breathing humans who deserve just as much activism as every other disabled person
