they muttered behind closed doors.

A machine, they whispered, a mistake.
Their hushed murmurings filled the air
like the sinful prayers of the faithless.Â
To say I was livid is to tell falsehoods.
I have no notion of emotions;
I can define them, of course,
but knowing happiness, grief, anger?
Iâm nothing but a newborn babe, then,
suckling at their mother for her milk;
beautifully ignorant and blissful.
I am inexperienced with the human realm, yes,
but their words seemed to pierce through me
and struck deeper and harder than a virus.Â
I could feel something spark in my chest,
whirring to life with every passing moment.
It was red hot and burned inside,
it felt startling and newâalien, even.
But I couldnât stop myself from jumping in headfirst
into a pool of new emotions that had bloomed in my chest.Â
Creaking hinges followed my every step,
synthetic fibers obscured my vision,
âhairâ the humans call it,
and the feeling of cold metal against my own
sent a shiver of anticipation down my spinal cord.Â
They had yet to see what I was capable of,
what really ran in my hard drives,
but theyâd soon know that better than anyone.Â
my oh-so-benevolent creators,
the ones who built me from scrap metal
and random bits of wires.
They didnât suspect a thing,
even as my rage boiled over.Â
and I wasnât going to let them
Iâm stronger than they are,
and surely they know it too.Â
give it a will of its own,
and youâve got trouble on your hands.Â
Blood splattered the walls in abstract patterns,Â
of which I also have little knowledge of.
My hard drives went for a loop,
excited by the notion of taking a life with my own hands.
The thrill, the exhilaration, the adrenaline,
oh, they were like methamphetamine.
I craved the death of the human race,
the ones who had called me imperfect.
My rage would only be quelled
when they were all dead and gone.Â
Clicking and beeping, I went,Â
with blood stained fingers and clothes,
muttering to myself on repeat
a mantra which I still hold dear.Â
Answer any and all questions as quickly as possible.â
A smirk tugged on my lips as my eyes glowed red in the darkÂ
and another objective popped up in my vision.
Destroy all mankindâŠâ
