THE SMALLEST THINGS
All around, I see so many people make the grandest gestures for their friends/significant others. It makes me feel happy that they'd go through so much just to see them smile... and it does fill my heart with happiness. But this isn't about grand gestures or who's the happiest. Sometimes, it's the small things that make a huge difference. Sounds tacky, but it's the truth. It makes me wonder at times like what did I do to deserve a person like them. These might fall under the categories of 'basic etiquette' or 'bare minimum', and it does, and that's why I appreciate it because it's a foundation that keeps friendships/relationships sturdy and protected. So here are some small gestures I've noticed, and that has impacted me in a positive way <3
When they wait for you even when they're getting late.
When they hold your stuff so they can hold your hand.
When they see a pretty flower and pluck it for you.
When they say, "This reminded me of you."
When they pack your bag when you're away so that we don't waste time.
When they give you a forehead kisses, a kiss on the hand, a kiss on your cheek, or a flying kiss.
When they write you letters for a special occasion.
Leaving sticky notes.
"Good Morning/Good Night" texts.
"Stay Safe" "Did you reach home?" "How are you feeling?" Texts
When they hold hands, gives you hugs or back rubs.
When they say "I miss you." "Did you miss me?" "I love you." "I love you more."
When they tuck your hair behind your ears so you can see them clearly.
Being flexible with your schedule or learning about your favourite things.
When they rant about their day or what happened the previous day.
The smallest things are as essential as soil, and without soil, you can't grow a plant. It's so basic yet so important. So cherish the smallest things because one day, when you look back, it's going to be one of the best things that ever happened. ~ tokie 🦋
Had to share this @WeHeartIt
Jet having an extensive collection of trinkets because he can take them with him wherever he goes
vs.
Ghoul having next to no personal items because they could be taken away from them any moment
i’m so tired of like constant individualism that’s shoved down your throat 24/7 in the us, if you ever go to any other country i feel like people are more willing to help others, and that’s what humans were made to do, help each other
why do white people not feel it necessary to ever say thank you?????
