How I feel when my LinkedIn inMail gets declined.
When a candidate wants to start talking about salary/benefits before talking about the position and their skills.
When a candidate says she is her own role model.
Who I picture on the other line when I see a girlfriend, sister, mother, or grandfather listed as a professional reference.
How I feel when a candidate gives one word answers to everything.
When you realize you setup 5 of the phone screens tomorrow in the wrong timezone.
When you’ve created an amazing complex boolean search string and press enter, only to find the job search site logged you out.
How a I picture a candidate who applies to the same requisition 3 times.
When a candidate asks a really ridiculous question.
What I picture when a non-entry level candidate has high school awards and accomplishments on their resume.
How I feel when I get rejected/no response’s by a direct-sourced candidate.
When you spend hours collecting profiles and contact information but can’t find time to individually message each one.
That moment when a candidate begins to speak very negatively about their former employer.
How it feels when a candidate signs an offer letter and never shows up.
How a candidate appears when they put their shoes on the conference table or chair.
When the candidate clearly doesn’t know what the hiring company does.
When a candidate tells me about their strengths and it’s something totally irrelevant (e.g. high school football QB, 20-20 vision).
