Unassuming debug maze... But it is very procedural :) I can make infinite variations now.
Also, today marks re:curse's first birthday... Please leave your graphics card on the mantle overnight so that Caroline may take a bite out of it... Thanks so much.
Oi! É um prazer anunciar que re:curse foi traduzido para português do Brasil. Essa e futuras traduções serão mantidas na página oficial do j

Should've hopped on the blender train long ago. I'm having fun :D

Based on the poll I ran, it seems a majority of you are interested in seeing my process work on this blog. So! I have some information about the new game. The game's working title is "Panorama." It will be a mixed-dimension Unity game with point-and-click and card divination elements. Similar to re:curse, there's a good amount of writing, and I'm starting work on the game with a written outline and script. As of now, the outline is finished and the script is about 20% complete. I'm treating the script as my NaNoWriMo project and plan to have a working draft done by early December.
I've also begun the early work on character and environment design. There are only two characters that ever appear onscreen. However, they are odd fellows, and may need a few passes before I'm satisfied. The third character only appears over the phone, and is a bit of a dick, so I'll not bother with him and leave his appearance to the player's imagination.
For 3D elements in this game, I'm planning on learning and using Blender this time--no more Maya, it's time to take the plunge. I think it will be a good learning experience. Wish me luck.
I'm starting work on a new game project. It's not set in the world of re:curse, but if you enjoyed the game, I have a feeling it may interest you. I'd also like to be more thorough documenting and sharing my process this time around.
So, I want to know. For this new project...
...where should I post devlogs?

hey. you. the path traced on the left reveals meaning on the right. solve my riddle.
I have so much fun constructing puzzles for you all. There’s nothing like it. Want to make even more.
May I ask if there's more to the dollhouse? I do not want to leave her alone.
You have a kind heart.
There are 3 possible narrative states the dollhouse can be in, plus one error state. They are all quite different, all fairly short, and each is triggered by the existence/nonexistence of certain gameplay-related files.
Hello! Dev here. It's been a few months now since re:curse released. To all of you who have taken the time to play, watch, stream, share tho
:)
Since releasing the game, I’ve been getting reports of a “memory leak” from some re:curse players.
I feel a bit responsible, so… I’ve been working on a program to capture that leaked data and display it in a human-readable format. I didn’t have much to work with, but I’ve tried to make it as inviting a place to live as possible.
Results on my end have been, well, mixed. Often the data has been too corrupt to glean much from. But maybe you all will have better luck than me.
I hope to share it with you very soon.
