RED-I PROJECTS was founded in 2004 as an independent curatorial platform for artist project commissions. Expansive in scope and dynamic in spirit, RED-I Projects facilitates flexible programs that meet the needs of contemporary artists through collaborative effort and by facilitating various method, site, and situation-specific initiatives that they make and present their work.

Interview (with Kit Hammonds) by Elliat Albrecht on The Editorial, a research-led inquiry into the expanding role and network of independent contemporary art publishers in Asia and their international impact through a curated series of public events, exhibitions, and discussions. The two-day programme includes public lectures and debates; publication launches with related performances, readings, and events; and a display within an Asian street market-inspired installation alongside internal workshops by and for international art publishing practitioners. There is also a subsequent Free Parking exhibition at Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong. The Editorial at the Taipei Biennial 2016 is a partnership between the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Vernacular Institute, and Asia Art Archive in Hong Kong. It was initiated by Ingrid Pui Yee Chu and Kit Hammonds. Supported by Art to Go, The International Council of the Museum of Modern Art, Taipei Artist Village, and the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. INGRID PUI YEE CHU 朱珮瑿, FOUNDER & DIRECTOR/CURATOR I am a Hong Kong born, dual Chinese and Canadian contemporary art curator and writer, having over two decades of experience at international museums and non-profit art organisations, as well as founding several independent curatorial initiatives: RED-I Projects in 2004, and Forever & Today alongside fellow Co-Founder, Director & Curator Savannah Gorton (Co-Founder & Curator, Friends with Books, Art Book Fair Berlin) in New York in 2008. Throughout, I have continued to curate contemporary art which operates at the interstices, and more recently as a way of contextualising art in Hong Kong, its surrounding region, and evolving ecosystem. The resulting commissions, exhibitions, projects, and publications, as well as my ongoing writing published worldwide, all service a methodological approach which seeks to build platforms that meet the changing needs of artists, while bringing their work to increasingly diverse audiences. I received an MA in Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and currently serve as an Associate Curator leading the Artists’ Book Library at Tai Kwun Contemporary in Hong Kong. https://ingridpuiyeechu.net/
