He Will Never Wear Your Broken Crown
It's weird to wrap my head around that fact because he has been alive for SO long. Like I talked about before, we saw him in BAT from the beginning. We saw his fallout with virtually all of the protags. We saw his downfall with Parrot and Spoke especially.
He over calculated this one time, he overestimated. I mean, Spoke was VYING for Leo to use his stasis in that final battle, to escape, to do what. he. always. does.
I feel that in Leo's head as he fell, he was either spitting with rage or came to a surreal realization that he was outsmarted by Spoke. That what was long coming finally caught up to him. He was like the eldest brother in the story of the Deathly Hallows from Harry Potter (kudos to you if you get the reference 🫶)
The way he died, they way Spoke did it? That ENTIRE scene? I feel like I can't gloss over the fact that Spoke also used an exploit to find the stasis. He used an EXPLOIT. We've barely seen a mention, a true mention, of an exploit in the last few vids especially after the big fallout with Jamato.
Another thing, Spoke seemed to be full ready to jump in after Leo. Leave everything behind because his final task was completed. He finished all of his trials. The Law was taken down, Mapicc is "safe", Parrot is king, and Leo is dead. Like Spoke looked back so much, went back so much, looked into that void.
I'd bet so much he was so ready to take that final step and follow Leo to the grave.
Just damn man, like, this is something that ENDED. Not resolved, not rebuilt, ended. One side won, another side lost. Outside of protags and main antags we don't see this a lot if EVER.
In this, we saw the behind the scenes almost, rise and fall of Leo.
Now, jumping forward to a team up I really liked watching an analyzing and trust me I will circle back sometime.
This is something I want to harp on for a solid while. I'm gonna put this here HARD when I say *NO ROMANCE OKAY NO ROMANCE*
Leo and Jumper have such an interesting relationship (NO NOT ROMANCE) they work so far and yet so close. The line that I'm tryna aura farm is that
"Jumper is Leo's missing humanity"
Leo is absolutely, utterly, and fully ruthless. Some of us may have brushed it off early on, but we can't just gloss by that. He is so underlyingly vicious and dare I say passionate due to the void in him.
Jumper was the voice of reason, the humanity, the compassionate person in his madness. Leo also didn't respect any of them (OG bat) like he respected Jumper. Not even Nufuli, and I count Nufuli out because he was the closest person to Leo. His right-hand man. Jumper was like a co-leader almost vs just being a friend.
Leo was the leader of BAT. He grinded for all of those resources himself he built it up HIMSELF. He didn't hesitate to layer that on.
Jumper is the leader of the main force of BAT. She is the leader of the spies. I would arguably say that if she didn't hold respect, or fear, or something like that for Leo? She could take over BAT herself with no hesitation.
I mean she basically did when she took over after Leo essentially went awol and was throwing away lives left right and center.
She is a parallel of Leo. I like to think of the Unstable Universe being slightly structurally similar to the Multiverse. ONLY in the sense of the parallels, the plots, the way one event makes so many possible realities.
Jumper cares about who she leads most of the time. Most namely, the spies. If she was with the Law, I don't think she'd care as MUCH but she'd still CARE. The fact that she killed one of them is still hung over her head to this day. Leo brings it up, and she still feels such guilt even when she basically had no choice.
Leo with the Law was genuinely idgaf I couldn't care less if you died. It was his habits that made it seem like he cared, but when push came to shove? They're all just soldiers to him.
He naturally commands, that is somehing I have also picked up on. I mean I'm not surprised in the slightest. He's been the LEADER of a HUGE team aka BAT. He isn't NEW to leading, and just as well he isn't new to having to be cold to the loss of fighters.
So I guess I mean to say, after all this confusion rant is that he was always destined to die.
We all probably thought about it. Some way or another the whole Spoke and Leo thing was gonna escalate into some side winning, especially after Jumper openly confronted and fought Leo.
He was fumbling, he knew he was losing, and while him dying he probably didn't know? He seemed to be getting tired he seemed to be getting desperate. Unlike Flame and Wemmbu who only got stronger due to their rivalry, Spoke and Leo practically leech each other.
They're both so tired, so done, yet they can't stop. They swore no rest until the other was dead or gone, and well that has finally happened.
With this, I wonder what will happen next. Unless my eyes decieved me, I'm 99% sure there were invis particles in that room when they were talking about imprisoning Lettuce. If that doesn't show us smth, then holy heck am I paranoid haha
