The problem with being married to someone super fit is that you just can’t be physically coercive in the cute ways you want to. This morning, I was trying to convince B to sleep in and cuddle and instead of being deterred by the fact that I was entirely wrapped around his torso, he just…got out of bed with me clinging to him and went about his business picking clothes in the closet and putting on pants and doing his skincare in the bathroom with me just there along for the ride. And when he finally tickled me into letting go so he could finish getting dressed, I was so completely awake from laughing so hard that I didn’t get to sleep in either. An outrage.

my dad (Maori) works on a ship with all Maori/Tongan/Samoan fisherman- and one Aussie guy called Jake.

And that wasn't done on purpose just sort of how it ended up, but Jake recently got an injury so they put him on a Different boat just for a little bit (a sit in the wheelhouse and scout type of boat, instead of the main fishing one) and he only got back to my dad's ship today and he was apparently like Shaking. He was Traumatised.

Dad said Jake kept pulling him aside and going "They were all yelling on there, but in a MEAN way" "They didn't clean... Like at ALL"

Jake experienced what a boat full of old school Aussie fisherman is like. That is the norm Jake. You just happened to be on the all Island boy boat on your first go out. "It was time for dinner and they had FROZEN nuggets" Jake that's what they have on ships that are out at sea for months at a time.

On my dad's boat they are eating fresh fish and coconut milk Ceviche. They're grilling steaks on an open bbq on the deck that probably is not regulation. All the guys have their own special knives to prepare sashimi every couple days. Everyone is happily doing their own work so they can clock out early and set up a movie on the deck. Jake did you genuinely believe that's what every boat was doing.

Just started Act 2 of PoF and I have some thoughts and one of them being its really odd and honestly a p bad writing decision to not have any sort of real buildup to Vlast and he feels like such an underutilized character n makes his death so???? Not impactful? Which is sad LMAO. Also his crystals should not be optional bro cmonnn thats important BUT ANYWAY.

Vlast...Vlast Vlast Vlast. I love how detached he is to his duty due to being raised by the Exalted. I like that he contemplates death as a freedom from the burden of Legacy Glint put on them, and how that can definitely be linked to the grief he experienced after losing his mother who, unlike Aurene, he did form a living relationship with. I like how Self-aware he is when it comes to being jaded and how he does hope that Aurene fares better than he did.

It gets me bro, Leo was so happy to make contact with Vlast only for him to die, so suddenly, and sharing that connection to Aurene was like an electric shock. Physically reeling from the blast and the mental anguish of Aurene he comes out of that situation with Balthazar so Overwhelmed.

The " I hope you fare better, my sister. I hope you feel full of purpose. Most days, all I feel is anger."

Line hit me like a truck man, especially "Most days, all I feel Is Anger" makes me wonder if theres a small small part of himself that sacrificed himself so readily not only because or for his sister due to the champion being in danger but also because, as he talks about, there is freedom in death. Fighting for something you dont truly believe in, where there should be empathy and passion there is simply the hallowness of anger.

Its so interesting...Idk im rambling these are just my yaps but its fun how Vlast says that wants aurene to not forget who/what she is which I interpret as a Dragon of glint's line first, as Vlast talks about being a dragon and the spear being created for mortals to do the Work of dragons.

But its interesting because I wonder if he could not fathom the concept of being raised the way Aurene is being raised by leo: the daughter of a mortal, where Leo views her as his daughter above all else, where she is a dragon but the importance is placed on her as an individual and treating her as something more? Normal? Than fantastical....augh...anyway its 5am
