Masked up Bahamut looks like he's about to hit a leather daddy bar.
Dragon Queen Tiamat
The largest "Mini" I have ever painted to date (and I have a larger one in progress, hehehe)
This the Aspect of Tiamat figure from Wizkids. This was my first project where I painted about 75% of it with an airbrush.
I was somewhat intimidated by the sheer size of the thing, and I knew some bits like the multiple colored heads were going to give me some challenges.
It was also a project where I let some "Happy Accidents" happen, like some of the splotches on the wings, or how one of the wing flaps came out a lot darker because I forgot to mask it. I think it kind of enhanced the overall charm of the piece.

In Need of a Little Help...
So, I normally don't like to do stuff like this, but my Mother In Law's funeral costs hit us HARD this week. We are not 100% sure if we will get a life insurance payout to help with the dent it put in our savings, and if we do get one, it could take months to process.
If you have a couple of bucks you wanna throw at us, that's great. We are ETERNALLY grateful. If not, that's totally cool too. I get it, times are tough these days.
Just know no matter what, I appreciate it, and will pay it forward eventually

Diana - The Cats of Mont Saint Michel
I held off on posting this because of a deep seated fear of my work getting stolen and entered into the contest. (AKA, Can you tell I'm a former early 2000s era Furry artist without saying it outright?)
This was for a contest over on myminifactory.com for Raybox Game's "The Cats of Mont Saint Michel" tabletop board game. They basically offered up a free STL of their character Diana, and offered prizes to those that printed and painted said STL.
This was certainly a challenge for me, panting-wise. The character is a hunter/sniper, so her color scheme kind of gave me a headache. Do I make her blend in to the scenery like her character should? Or do I go with artistic aesthetic and have her stand out? Well as you can see, I went with aesthetic, mainly because I like a good, eye-catching color scheme. I also went a little nuts with the base, but love how lush it turned out.
I didn't win, but am happy to have participated. You can see the other entries here.
Hey, I get a set of the "Cats of New Orleans" figures from their next board game, so I'm happy for that.
Waiter in training. Look at that little tuxedo.
"M'lord. I am not saying that you're sexist. What I'm saying, is that if you have ever wondered that maybe, if you would have had a daughter or two, you wouldn't be in your current predicament?"
Me having a conversation with the Emperor of Mankind's barely alive husk on the golden throne.
Dragon: "Don't you understand? I'm a DRAGON! It's what dragons DO!"
Knight: "Normal dragons hoard gold dude. You hoard ketchup packets"
Dragon: *growling atop his mountain of half a billion ketchup packets* "But I might NEED them one day."
My next project. The dragon queen Tiamat.
This top heavy bitch is pissing me off because she's too big for any of my pill bottles or cups, so I had to find a painters cup, and she WILL NOT STAY ON IT! SHE TOPPLES OVER AT THE SLIGHTEST BREEZE!
So making off all of the tan bits is gonna be fun tomorrow.
Necrosphinx
Warhammer: The Old World
So while I was working on my last major Mini project, Archmage Teclis and Celenar, I found myself really enjoying the Non-Metallic Metal painting technique (NMM) and wanted to do more.
Then I find this model at a game store, and knew I was in for a challenge.
If my previous posts were any indication, I definitely got my wish for more NMM. Possibly more than I thought I could handle, hence the posts doubting myself.
I'm glad I pushed through, because I am very happy with the results.
It didn't help that I started the paint job over a few times on this one because I couldn't decide what color I wanted the body to be. At the end of the day, I like how the purple/obsidian look came out. It was inspired by the Jeweled Obsidian Panther mount from WoW.
Detail shots.
Thank you for the kind comments and reblogs on this journey. I'm glad everyone liked my commentary, cat cameos, and WiP.
mmmm. Forbidden cookies.
(trying to see which texture makes a decent looking sand base. But they look like cookies)
Wings are finally done*. Finally seeing the finish line for this project.
Also, cameo from Vivi, who nearly knocked one of the wings into my wet pallet and almost made me have a heart attack.
I should probably go to bed before I start crying.
*I still have to apply the wash, paint the edges, touch up any mistakes, and add white highlights before final assembly. I'm just relieved because I had to paint that exact wing pattern FOUR FUCKING TIMES and now my brain hurts.
Got the whole thing base coated tonight. Now I gotta do some details so I can mask them off before tackling the gold. That's why the finish on the body looks off in some spots. Masking helps me not have to touch up so much.
Bonus pic. My dumb ass cat getting into the paint water, ignoring the decoy cup I set out for her.
Sphinx Torso done. Took me a week and some change.
Now I have to do the body and wings. I don't know if the body is going to take as long or what. It doesn't have the intricate details, but it's also twice the size.
Oh, and I have to do a base, but that's just going to be some sand, because I am SO not in the mood for a complex base.
"Let's do the whole ass model in NMM" I said
"It will be fun!" I said
"It will show off that I can flex as a painter" I said.
I should have learned from the "Let's hand ink every fucking scale on this Rathalos drawing" Incident, but noooooooo. I just had to let the intrusive thoughts win.
