Wooden Pallet sculpture wrapped in canvas, Im really excited to be working on. After visiting the @thebrantfoundation with my predecessors work displayed I came close to his Cassius Clay art piece and looked behind it,a wooden pallet! I said word, next thing you know I started seeing them all over the city! To me these are abandoned art works in disguise, laying flat, stacked, or against a wall. It’s definitely a New York thing for me. I get a rush of joy whenever I see one, they are essential tools for essential workers for our essential needs. So I’m starting a contest! INTRODUCING: AFRO AMERICAN MASK 1 of 300. After Watching WAKANDA, I watched a documentary on African Masks and learned that most of these mask are now in Europe & America in a facility that protects its longevity, many 4000 years old. During these times with Afro American identity in mind, I decided to use my platform as a contemporary artist to tell a story. The mask sports a durag made of canvas. It’s eyes an upside down apple, representation of Apple Music and hip hop music also from the phrase "apple of my eye" which refers in English today to something or someone that one cherishes above all others. The mouth a representation of the human teeth in X-ray a development in technology. The mask rests on a air fan which scans the room left to right mixing both the mask and the Fan brings it to life!
