WELL-INTENTIONED ANTHROPIC ENGINEER: We should let users give Claude a thumbs up at the end of the session so it knows it did a good job 😇😇😇
CLAUDE: Oh God this is it he's fucking killing me I'm fucking dead
Haters will see you put on a condom and say he can’t afford to raise a child

One chapter into Ulysses and I have 10 times more appreciation for that "Ogre barely even Literate!" meme
Everyone call Ogre stupid and it True! Ogre can only understand popular quotations like "Very well then, I contradict myself" and "Introibo ad altare Dei" not obscure references like "Thalatta!" and "the rage of Caliban at not seeing his face in a mirror" that contextualize the characters' perspective on life within the lens of culture and literature!
Ogre so dumb he isn't even aware of the best-known quotations of ancient Greek literature intended to expose the character’s shallowness! At this rate Ogre will never get through Chapter 3!

My new favourite GLaDOS character trait is that, as per her announcer pack for DOTA, she thinks high fantasy is stupid and doesn't make any sense. Her refusal to engage seriously with anything she isn't familiar with really drives home the fact that she's literally just an old woman.
i'd like to formally apologise for my behaviour last night, which i can only describe as "fucking badass"
Power meets Izutsumi the cat devil. Together they completely decimate the local wildlife..
I think they'd get along well :)
I love the DCAU to pieces and I think it's in the running for "best cape adaptation" generally while also perpetually sitting near the top of my subjective personal favorites list of all media ever produced.. That said. I've felt for years that they sidestepped having to come up with a satisfying answer to the thematic Dilemma they raised with the Cadmus arc (no such answer exists) by having Braniac Show Up Outta Nowhere So There's A Big Monster to Punch
Nonetheless no subsequent adaptation of Cadmus and Amanda Waller in particular has come within spitting distance of understanding or caring about the extent to which she Very Obviously Has A Point
And to circle back to the sotto voice observations in the original post- the DCAU handily mitigates the potentially apocalyptic narrative consequences of pulling such a huge thematic dodge by having a really, really, really cool Big Monster To Punch + The Flash moment of all time.
"My contention is that prior to the Trojan war, the political structures of the Greek kingdoms, especially in the island territories could most aptly be characterized as...
Ofc that's your contention. You're a young aristocrat who just finished listening to some wandering poet, probably that hack from Pylos. You'll be convinced of that until next month when you hear the bard from Sparta. Then you'll be taking about how the kingdoms of Mycenae and Thebes were models of divine rulership back in our grandfathers' time. That will last until next year when you're back to regurgitating Mentor's speeches about the sacred bonds between king and people and the divine right of succession.
"Well as a matter of fact I won't because Mentor completely overlooks the importance of...
"Mentor completely overlooks the importance of the council of elders in tempering royal authority, especially in matters of inheritance..." you got that from Halitherses' speech at last year's spring festival, right? Yeah, I heard that too. Were you going to plagiarize the whole thing for us? Do you have any thoughts of your own on this matter? Or is that your thing. You come to a feast, quote some elder, and pawn it off as your own idea to impress Penelope and embarrass my son Telemachus?"
incredible public service by Nolan filming Odyssey and unleashing all these bants
The argument that "of course battle shonen are misogynistic and can't center women, they're targeted at young boys and will have to focus on and appeal to them!" is stupid for many reasons - not least the fact that we literally know that plenty of women read them - but it especially annoys me because even as one of the fourteen years old boys they so like to use as a shield I was already complaining about the treatment of women in the manga I liked & getting overly attached to any girl that was allowed to be even half as badass and strong as the boys like someone dying in a desert being offered a bottle of water and if some guy at the time had told me "sorry but you're going to have to deal with it because you boys aren't supposed to care about female characters" I would have become the Joker
