you know what kills me the most about zayne’s preview? it’s not him removing his glasses, nor is it him pushing the books off that table. it’s when he tried to calm himself down, tried to gather himself, tried so hard to regain control when he momentarily rested his head against her shoulder yet all it took is one breathe for him to decide “fuck it, i can’t do it anymore” before hurriedly lifting up mc and kissing her aggressively against that window

it’s the way Zayne is always prioritising MCs comfort to ensure she doesn’t get hurt or feel any discomfort.

zayne’s word play is insane 🤩

Zayne: 豹豹还是抱抱？

抱抱 (bào bào) in chinese means hug, which is what we did with the surprise hug. meanwhile, 豹豹 (bǎo bǎo) is an animal (e.g. 雪豹 = snow leopard or 海豹 = seal).

both words have similar pronunciation and intonation. the english subtitle / dub just says “Am I a snow kitten plushie now?” which is a direct question to us, but the CN dub sounds a little more playful in my opinion 🥰

how i interpret it is like he’s teasing us—whether we’re asking him for a hug or if we’re referring to him as a snow kitten.

he’s the cutest ☹️🥺
