❝      yes,        he  is.      ❞        she  wasn’t  afraid  or  ashamed  of  admitting  it.        liam  was  a  good  person  in  her  eyes,        he  always  would  be.         ❝      he  doesn’t  pretend  to  be  anything,      ❞        she  quickly  defended  him.        gwen  wouldn’t  let  him  just  speak  poorly  about  liam.         ❝      yes  he  is  a  person,        gabe.      ❞        liam  wasn’t  a  monster  at  all  in  her  eyes,        she  recognized  that  people  just  didn’t  understand  that  not  all  supernatural  creatures  were  bad,        but  it’d  never  justify  beating  them  up.         ❝      liam’s  not  a  monster,      ❞        she  replied,        voice  shaking  slightly.         ❝      right  now,        the  only  monster’s  i  see  are  the  people  like  you  and  nolan.        the  people  who  go  around  beating  up  their  PEERS.        how  do  you  even  live  with  yourself  ?        you’re  only  hurting  innocent  people.      ❞        she  folded  her  arms  across  her  chest,       looking  away  from  him  for  a  moment,        shaking  her  head.         ❝      i  don’t  care  what  you  saw,      ❞        she  spoke,         ❝      i  know  liam  is  a  good  person  and  he  didn’t  deserve  that.        he  hasn’t  killed  anybody.      ❞        the  mccall  pack  were  good  people.         ❝      why  don’t  you  just  do  us  both  a  favor  and  stop  trying  to  protect  me.        ‘cause  you  know  what,        gabe  ?        innocent  people  get  hurt  when  you  try,        my  friend  got  hurt.        i  don’t  need  your  protection,        and  i  don’t  want  it.      ❞

SHE  DIDN’T  KNOW  WHAT  WAS  HAPPENING.        everyone  was  scared,        herself  included.        she  wasn’t  scared  of  liam  or  corey,        though.        not  like  her  peers  were.        gwen  knew  they  were  the  good guys.        she’d  been  visiting  the  woman  a  lot  lately,        she  was  easy  to  confide  in,        and  with  hayden  gone  and  phoebe  at  college,        tamora  was  one  of  the  only  people  she  trusted  with  things.        gwen  shook  her  head,        shuddering  at  the  thought.        how  could  people  stand  idly  by  and  watch  a  fight  take  place  without  doing  anything  to  stop  it  ?         the  thought  made  her  SICK.        ❝      i  only  know  about  it,      ❞        she  replied  sadly.         ❝      i  broke  up  with  gabe  because  he  was  part  of  it.        i  just  can’t  understand  how  they  could  do  that  to  liam.        he’s  a  good  person.        if  coach  didn’t  show  up  when  he  did      ------      ❞        her  voice  trailed  off,        she  didn’t  want  to  think  about  how  much  worse  things  could’ve  been.
