Remington was surprised as Mila moved closer, but that wasn’t a bad thing. Truth be told, she liked when the girl was close - especially since she was drunk. She loved the feeling of somebody close to her, and Mila was easily one of her favorite people. “You tired or something?”
Remington merely curled into the blankets further, cuddling up against the pillow she had claimed and the girl she now called family. "But you know now." She hummed.

“Maybe there’s some other freshman needing a ride to school.” She chuckled, before reaching over to drunkenly swat at the girl. “Stop being a dick!” She grumbled.
“Maybe” she raised a brow before laughing and grabbing at Remi’s wrist when she swatted at her. “Make me” She snorted
“I’m way too drunk to make you do anything.” She admitted quietly, tugging her arm back only to curl up to the girl. “And you thought I was mean!” She said softly, clearly content how she was laying.
“That’s what I thought” She smirked, hesitating for a moment as the blonde curled up to her before draping her arm over her shoulders. “I mean you do have the whole resting bitch face thing down”
"So!" She grumbled, almost sleepily. Alcohol always seemed to put the blonde to sleep faster than usual. "Just cause I look mean doesn't mean I am!"

“What class were you struggling with?” She asked curiously. She pulled a false expression of pain and gasped. “Wow, you dick.” She chimed, breaking into a grin. “Mean!”
“Anatomy. Which is ridiculous because if I want to get anywhere near the nursing field I have to be good at that” She grumbled before snorting at the blonde’s reaction. “Never said I was nice
“Depends on what part of the medical field though, right? I mean, if you’re a nurse, you only really need the basics?” She wondered. Remi had never been the best in school, so the idea of actually wanting to BE something was foreign to her. “Miiiiiiila!” She pouted.
“I still need to pass the classes though” She mumbled with shrug. “I’ll figure it out though.” She added before rolling her eyes. “Whaaaaaat?” She mimicked the whining

“Well, I mean.. I kind of was. If you weren’t around me, you couldn’t hate me.” She pointed out with a laugh. “Dumb, right? The leaving early was because of school though. I used to give this girl in one of my classes a ride back to campus in the mornings. She was doing my math homework, so I couldn’t really say no.” She was silent for a moment. “It’s been a few months though, now, and look at us. You’d never guess we were afraid of each other before.”
“Well I didn’t know if I hated you until you finally stopped avoiding me” She laughed and shook her head, rolling onto her side. “You got someone to do homework for you and all you had to do was give her a ride to campus? Genius.” She sighed and propped her head on her hand. “Amazing what actually talking can do”
"Yeah, it was some little freshman. No car, lived like twenty minutes away from campus and worked the night shift. I'd just pick her up from the gas station, and take her to work and she would do all of the shit for math I didn't understand. It was a good deal." She grinned. "See, and now we wouldn't go back! Right?"
"Well, I mean.. I kind of was. If you weren't around me, you couldn't hate me." She pointed out with a laugh. "Dumb, right? The leaving early was because of school though. Even drunk, there was that little aspect of Remi she couldn’t lose, and that was her care for others. As much as she hated the general population, she loved those she cared about with every ounce of her being. Draping the blanket over the darker girl, she turned on her side so she could peer up at her, picking a pillow in the process. The fluffiest of course. “I remember being so nervous to have another girl in the house.”
Mila tucked an arm behind her head and sighed. “You didn’t even talk to me for the first couple of weeks. I swore you hated me, and I was so mad at my dad for making us move in with someone who hated me”
"I was just nervous!" Remi frowned. "I.. have a hard time meeting new people. And it's not like we ever talked outside of those weird picnics our parents organized. I thought you weren't going to like me either." She admitted. "I'm kind of grumpy." She chuckled. "It's always just been me and mom. Well, at least for the past like... five years. You get used to that, y'know?"
“You were supposed to grab pillows and a blanket!” She groaned, stretching just enough to tug one off of the bed, a few pillows fumbling along with it. A victorious grin took over her lips and she immediately curled up in the fabric, laying back on the carpeted floor and humming along to the song playing. “I’m glad our parents got married.” She slurred thoughtfully. “I never got to do this kind of stuff before then. Had a real best friend, I mean.”
“Well you didn’t say that!” She rolled her eyes taking another swig from the bottle as Remi pulled a few pillows and a blanket from the bed. “Neither did I…I didn’t really have friends in general. We were always moving and shit”

“Well I am, but you’re still up so there’s no chance of me actually being left alone to sleep right?” She smirked and looked over at Remi as she played with her ipod. “Whatever you want to put on is fine”
Remington, the drunk bafoon she is, plopped down onto the floor as she began to shuffle through songs, skipping until she found one she liked, only to him along to it for a moment. “Not a chance.” She finally answered, grinning. “Sleep is for the weak.”
“No sleep is for the sane” Mila snorted as she watched Remi flip through the songs while on the floor. “You’re not gonna be able to get up if you stay down there you know”
"Well then come down here with me! We can sleep on the floor!" Remington had a habit of showing her more childlike thoughts when she was under the influence. But, she didn't mind. Usually she found a reason to be grumpy with just about any human in her path - even if she somehow managed to portray herself as a buttercup. Alcohol changed that.

One of the nice things about summer break was that Mila and Remi both had the options to move back home for a few months, being as their parents lived so close to the school. And that meant all of their mischief together only escalated, such as the cupboard they had turned into a liquor cabinet. “You promised you’d have fun tonight.” She reminded her step-sister.
“I am having fun!” Mila protested as she opened the bottle and took a swig, not wincing as it ran down her throat. “This is me, having fun”Â
The blonde passed over a judging expression, but didn't argue further as she watched Mila take a strong gulp of the straight liquor. "There ya' go." She grinned brightly.
