She let out a shaky breath and shook her head. âIâm sorry, but this isnât up for debate, Remus. Iâm going.â
Remus didnât argue any more, but gave a beleaguered nod.Â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âRemus, heâs never going to find him. And I know him better than anyone.â
âAnd maybe heâll just come back on his own,â Remus pointed out.
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
Putting where she was going in his maps, she also shared her location with him. âNow youâll know where I am, okay? Just⌠please donât come unless I ask you to.â
âLuce...â he grimaced, âWhy canât you just wait? Itâs not safe.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âI love you, Remus â but if heâs spiraling, I need to go on my own,â she shook her head. âHere, give me your phone.â
âI...â Remus hesitated, but handed over his phone after a moment.
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âBecause Sirius is not the person whoâs going to get him here,â she shook her head. âAnd if he is where I think he is⌠heâd never forgive me if I let Sirius go there. Itâs our place.â She paused. âHeâs my husband, Remus.â
âWell he hasnât exactly been a good one, Luce,â Remus pointed out. âJust wait, okay? I can go with you when Sirius gets back.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
Lucinda didnât say anything for a moment, and then shook her head. âI think I know where he could be. Just â get Sirius to come back, and watch the twins for me. Please?â
âWhere is it? Why canât Sirius just go and find him, Luce? I donât want you out there on your own.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âHeâs not picking up from you either?â She asked. âWhatâs Sirius going to do if he finds him? He wonât come back here with him. No â I have to go, thatâs what makes the most sense.â
âThen Sirius will call us and you can go and meet him. But where are you going to look right now that Sirius hasnât already looked?â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âHeâs clearly not in the right state of mind right now,â she shook her head. âAnd we both know Iâm much more likely to find him than Sirius is.â
âAnd if Sirius comes back without him, then we can go and look. But itâs pointless to go right now,â he shook his head.
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âHe shouldnât be out on his own â Sirius never should have let him leave,â Lucinda shook her head.
âSirius couldnât have known heâd run to the apparition line. Thatâs mental,â Remus defended.
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âIf he hasnât found him yet, then I am going out there. I have a much better chance of finding him than Sirius does.â
âLuce, you know itâs not a good idea to go out there by yourself. Please just wait until Padfoot gets back.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âRemus, call him,â she said again, leaving the room for a moment only to return with the bag she used to stow her wand and other small trinkets.Â
âLuce, you canât go out there too. Theyâll be back soon, just wait,â Remus called after her as she left the room. Pulling out his phone, he dialed Sirius and waited for him to pick up.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âCall him,â she said firmly, knowing if she did Sirius wouldnât pick up.Â
âLuce... Heâs fine, Sirius already went to all of the apothecaries and let them know not to sell him anything if he shows up. Theyâll be back soon,â Remus tried to assure her.
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âYou said itâs been hours and he hasnât found him yet? Whereâs Sirius?â
âI donât think so, no,â Remus replied, âHe said heâd be back soon.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âWhat?â
âRegulus apparently went for a run and Sirius didnât think he would be able to make it to the apparition line but he did,â Remus sighed. âSo when he triggered the boundary wards, Sirius went after him.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âWhy are neither of them picking up the phone?â She asked. âWhere did they go, Remus?â
âI donât know,â Remus admitted after a few moments, âThey got into it here and then Regulus ran off and Sirius went after him.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âHow long have they been gone?â She asked, pulling out her phone to call Regulus, although it immediately shot to voicemail.
âA few hours,â Remus sighed, âLuce, itâs fine. Theyâll be back soon.â
lucindaleonoratalkalotâ:
âWhat?â She blanched, shaking her head. âWhy would they be in London â heâs not supposed to leave.â
âIt wasnât really planned,â Remus muttered.
