Tony's Little Italy
Just as I got off work, my friend Ethan called me and said "I have free time today. Let's go to Tony's". I immediately had the biggest smile on my face. Tony's Little Italy is THAT Pizzeria. The place where you know you're going to get served one of THE BEST pizza pies of your life. The first time I had Tony's was in the fall. My friend Sara ordered a deep dish cheese pizza and she said we would have to wait an hour. I asked why so long of a wait and she just told me the wait would be worth it. So when it was time to pick it up, I could not believe the size of the pizza I was about to consume. The box was SO heavy, that I could barely carry it to the car. Tony's is a place where they want you to know it's an authentic CHICAGO style pizza. The place is covered wall to wall in Chicago sports memorabilia, so I knew I was in the right place.
Now, to write this review I had to recreate my first time at Tony's, so I came in STARVING! I ordered a medium deep dish with Ethan and we waited for about 30 to 40 minutes. They brought out the pizza and I was still impressed on the size of it. One thing you will notice about the pizza is that the sauce is on top, which is the greatest idea ever. The reason they do it is so that you can taste an explosion of toasty flavor from the sauce. The sauce is a great blend of tomato and pepper. I love it. The cheese. Oh my lord. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being little to no cheese, & 10 being nothing but cheese) it's at about a 9. There is a lot of cheese. It would be a bother but the cheese is SO awesome!
Another reason I love why they put the sauce on top, is because the cheese melts with the bread first, and as we all know, I love cheese bread! The dough is toasted to perfection. It's amazing. The grease level from a scale of 1 to 5 is at about a 5. Again, this is not a bad thing. I don't mind grease at all. So the best way to eat this pizza is to begin with a knife and fork. Then about halfway through you can just use your hands to stuff your face! It's a lot to eat in one slice, so you will probably have to take this pizza to go. It's awesome because you can eat it in the comfort of your own home. Another big thing about this place that I love, is that the staff is SUPER nice. I got to meet the owner, Tony, and he made me feel very welcomed. So not only does Tony's Little Italy have AMAZING pizza, but it's just a great place to be. Not to mention that the place itself is tiny, and is by far the most successful establishment on the block.
Honestly on the value scale of 1 to 10 (1 meaning no way and 10 meaning f*ck yeah), it's a 6. A medium pizza with one topping and 2 drinks was a little over $20. Not something you want to get if you're eating alone and strapped for cash. It would be best to order with another person to help pay for it. The pizza itself is very much worth the price. On taste scale from 1 to 10 (1 meaning puking my guts out and 10 meaning I WILL EAT THIS FOREVER!!!), this falls at a 9. I cannot begin to express how much I love this place.
So in conclusion, go with family and friends if you're ready to eat one of the best pizzas in southern California.
Tony's Little Italy is Located at 1808 N Placentia Ave Unit B Placentia, CA 92870.

Costco Pizza
So today while running errands, I made a last-minute stop at Costco to feed my pizza addiction. Over the years, Costco pizza has held a special place in my youth. This particular Costco is located in Fullerton right near the downtown Fullerton district where I bought my first cds, records, clothes, and went to my first ska & punk shows at La Caffepia. Costco was the one place we knew we could get a good deal on food. If you were strapped for cash, you could buy a pepperoni slice and a soda for less than $2.50!! To my surprise, a slice and a soda is still less than $2.50!!
So I bought my slice and waited a bit for it to cool down. For you first timers out there, it is a bit greasy. On a scale of 1 to 5, it’s a 3, which is not a bad thing in my opinion. I don’t care if it’s greasy or not, the pepperoni is pretty damn tasty. So tasty in fact, the flavor makes your tounge tingle. The cheese is amazing and really gooey. It makes that squeaky rubber sound when you bite into it (which I love) and there’s lots of it. This slice had cheese smothering the crust. The crust is really awesome too! It was like a bonus cheesy bread! If you’re more of a flavor fan like me, eat the crust first. The crust and the inner pie are 2 different entities. So on a value scale (a 1 meaning no way and 10 meaning f*ck yeah!), this pizza is a 10! I would spend my last $3 for a Costco pizza slice. I got full for less than $2.50. I CANNOT begin to express how cool that is. This also falls under the category of “Don’t worry, Baby. I’ll buy us pizza.”
Now on a taste scale, (1 meaning puking my guts out and 10 meaning I WILL EAT THIS FOREVER!!!) this falls to about an 8 1/2. Everything mixes well, even the after taste! If my friends asked “How’s Costco pizza, anyway?” I would reply, “You have not lived until you’ve tried it. LET’S GO RIGHT NOW!!!” So in conclusion, I’m glad that Costco Pizza is the first pizza I get to review for my blog. If you have any suggestions of pizzerias or restaurants that make pizza, drop me a message in my ask box.
