This one, peeps. HP Series G-6, also fresh from the oven. 40x40x2cm Playing with notions of landscapes depicted through the lenses of memory, as they are presented as fragmented images, including the geometry from what appears to be concrete blocks. I come from the Caribbean and, like any other person that grew near the cost, concrete blocks are something found anywhere in the world’s coastal towns, even in any city. Every inhabited landscape will share this or any other geometry similar to the one presented here (I think I’m appealing here to the collective subconscious...) This is not the first time the concrete blocks appear in my work: I made some stencils to make monotype prints with gel plates (now on offer in #artistsupportpledge -check my website for all work available under this magnificent initiative. It’s bloody difficult but sometimes we feel blessed and grateful-my family, my partner, my kids, despite home schooling, make me feel fortunate. Sometimes it’s rock n’ roll. Hi Peeps! How are you coping? How are you feeling? I’ve been a bit off radar trying to do an impossible balancing act between Kids&homeschooling , my partner, household, my art-work and its necessary promotion, relaxing (which, when, what?)... Don’t know you but when the occasional negative feelings catch me I like to reaffirm that nothing lasts forever. I wish to be sufficiently alert to embrace change without being paralysed with fear. So I’m publishing a series of #hands from my #sketchbook , something that my 9yo daughter initiated when she kidnapped my sketchbook one day (drawing her hands outline). When I cannot make it to my studio (usually late in the evening) my sketchbook is my lifesaver and a place where anything goes, being that collage, random note making, drawings of dream house or studio plans -even the occasional architectural elevation. Yet doodles would appear over all mentioned above while still visible - a pentimento. Which hand would you choose today?
