So there’s this artist, Alex Schaefer, who makes a bunch of paintings of Chase Bank burning.

I just read this bit from the artist and
This is a "plein air" painting which means I set up my easel right across the street of this Chase bank in my city and painted it like it had caught fire. The police questioned me on the spot. Three weeks later Homeland Security was knocking on the door to my home. The question they kept asking me was "Do you hate these banks?" I can honestly say yes.
And I just think this is the greatest artist statement I’ve ever read.
When your artistic freedom gets you a visit from Homeland Security less then a month in to your hobby in a definitely free country where you can voice your opinions on stuff free from government interference.
For the longest time I couldn't get a job because I owned a flip phone rather than a smart phone. My parents bought me the flip to save money while they were able to keep in contact with me. The issue is that during the hiring process companies will text you links and other things but the flip phone I had could load the characters for a link so it just appears as a bunch of blank squares. My parents got so aggressive with me over the fact I couldn't find a job that I had to go to the job center to help me due to not owning a device capable of working with the current hiring method.

His point is basically that he’s going to go where he’s wanted. Guys like Brett realize, as he’s leaving that he’s actually beneficial to the society he’s leaving. The lgbtq community is going to be the first to be thrown under the bus, especially with states like Missouri proposing laws where teachers are not even allowed to address a trans student by their preferred pronouns.
In other states, merely dressing as you identify is now being deemed as 'pornographic' and a crime.
It doesn't matter how 'wholesome' you think your queer art or writing is. It's going to be lumped in with anything lgbtq, and as far as the alt-right is concerned, it will be seen as immoral 'porn'.
