1. Hello. Please start by introducing yourself to the international fans. What is your name, occupation, and how did you come up with the nickname, ‘Lasso’?

Hello, my name is Seok Junkyu (@VANVANprj) and I am working as a photojournalist and editor for the Korean game webzine (*web magazine) ‘Inven’. I mainly attend and photograph eSports events, various game shows, or interviews. I also draw pictures that are used for editorial cartoons and articles.

My nickname is Lasso. I was searching for a two-syllable word with a clear pronunciation and I decided to go with, ‘Lasso’, inspired by the lasso tool name on Photoshop. It doesn’t have a special story attached to it, but that’s intentional. Sometimes when you go ahead and name something with a lot of meaning, you might later think that the meaning sounds a little childish.

1. 안녕하세요, 우선 해외팬분들을 위해 자기소개부터 부탁드릴게요, 이름, 직업, 그리고 닉네임 “Lasso”의 유래도 설명해주세요!

안녕하세요, 한국의 게임 웹진 ‘인벤'에서 사진 기자 및 에디터로 활동하고 있는 석준규(Seok Junkyu)입니다. 주로 e스포츠 현장과 각종 게임 쇼, 인터뷰 사진 촬영을 하고 만평이나 기사에 쓰이는 짤들을 그리기도 합니다.

닉네임은 Lasso인데, 2음절로 된 발음이 뚜렷한 단어를 생각하다가 포토샵에 있는 툴 이름에서 따오게 되었습니다. 그다지 사연 없이 지은 것은 의도입니다. 너무 의미 있게 뭔가의 이름을 섣불리 지으면 나중에 그 의미가 유치하게 생각될 때도 있거든요.
