HAUNTED ? the fact that she asked him that question at all was curious. his eyes told stories of ghosts that would not leave him alone , not even when he close them. the way his hands shook carried the weight of all that he had done to his body to perhaps one day be SATISFIED , yet so far that had been in vain. he had allowed himself to be torn apart , piece by piece , yet had never been put back together again. his lips were chapped and despite his natural youthful look he felt like he had lived long past his time. A RUIN OF A MAN. however , he was far from a modern day Atlas ━━ no , he had brought this upon himself. no one gave him a burden , the tempation of SELF - DESTRUCTION was his fatal flaw.
“ YES. ” haunted by the past , haunted by the future , what a way to live. maybe one day he would wake up and just be okay with everything , maybe the alcohol could finally make him forget his name and how it would taste on the lips of other people. maybe , maybe , maybe ━━ an EMPTY PRAYER. the truth is that one day his demons will CONSUME him and then it won’t matter anymore if he was haunted. they let him live , but they seemingly could not let him die. “ maybe it’s because i read too much horror as a kid , who knows ? ”

perhaps if wasn’t the appeal of death , but simply the PROMISE of a never ending life. everything was finite , his bones ached with age they had yet to achieve. his desire to die was simply a way to STALL ━━ in all honesty , he was simply scared to die. maybe one day that would change and he could lay down his head to the fact that he was probably not going to live past sixty at the rate he was going , but until then he had found his way to fight again the seemingly INEVITABLE.
“ depends on the person. some people try and cling to life for as long as possible , even when death is staring them right in the face. some are at PEACE when laying on their deathbed , others beg and pray for just another moment more on earth. ”

YOUTHFUL GLOW, DEADLY BOY ; death within name brand clothes. there was a curiosity for the modern advances , things that you had never witnessed before. ever more your age would show, perhaps in more of a childish sense of wonder. blender whirls, sound echos through apartment as lips twist a smile ; counter space in disarray with a selection of special ingredients for this creation. within it’s completion, you are pleased. a foul smell but perhaps a taste would prove that appearance and scent were not the complete package.

it took but a glance away from the screen that lit his face for daniel to grimace. the light from the television illuminated his presence , paling his already white skin ━━ as if he was IMITATING the being he so desperately wanted to be. there was distaste on his tongue , or perhaps it was the horrid smell that had been supposed to be appealing. a frown appeared on his face and took away all the ILLUSION a mortal man might have of his supernatural aura. the creases in his skin left no doubt of his finite existence. his hand came up to his mouth to cough , whether it was from the smoke he’d had a few minutes prior or the liquid death armand held out to him.
“ WHAT is that supposed to be ? i don’t think any god would allow that shit to ever see the light of day. ” he’d put enough harmful substances in his body , but some lines needn’t be crossed. cigarettes might kill him slowly , but he was certain whether armand was trying to feed him would kill him instantly.
