i removed the song from the carriage scene because that song choice was AWFUL and was totally ruining the vibe. I think it's better like this imo. the music is supposed to enhance, not distract!

“I want you today, tomorrow and forever"
I don't have a lot to say about Laura in those courthouse scenes that I haven't already said. I do think Laura has been regressed for the purposes of sociopathic mooch having someone powerful in her corner. I do think her refusal to acknowledge Trina is intentional, and I'm curious to see if they're ever going to have Trina comment on Laura's need to disappear her.
But I'd actually rather focus on Trina in those scenes because my eyes were mostly drawn to her and her reactions. I think what I'm enjoying the most about Ava chasing after justice for Trina is that it's basically forcing Trina to be honest with herself about what she actually wants vs. what she thinks she should want.
She tells Ava how she doesn't want demon spawn to lose out on his mother but when Ava pushes back and tells her this tiny sliver of justice is something she needs to really move on, Trina really doesn't fight her on that idea. So what we get from Trina in that courtroom is a girl once again seeing if the system she was raised to believe in, the system that turned on her and almost destroyed her life, would finally come through with some "sliver of justice" like Ava suggested.
What she saw was the system (through Mayor Laura's influence) move quickly to protect the girl who drugged her and weaponized the system against her. By the time sociopathic mooch skates with nothing but probation, Trina is sharing Ava's annoyance and side eye of Molly. But I think it's important to point out the differences in Trina and Ava's reactions. Ava is outraged, and Trina is disappointed but not remotely surprised. She is equal parts fed up with the system and completely unsurprised that sociopathic mooch continues to bend it to her will.
Trina's budding disillusionment paired with Laura and Esme's glee is actually weirdly enough the perfect MLK day episode. I don't know how intentional those optics or social commentary were but they're fitting. Trina got to watch the same Molly who tried to throw the book at her, with a trumped up plea deal, tell Ava that "justice was served" because sociopathic mooch would be spending no jail time.
And the resolution and protection for sociopathic mooch happened so quickly in comparison to the months Trina's fate was left dangling in the wind. Trina and Esme did not face the same justice system at all and I think that parallel was intentional.
I think, considering Trina is rumored to be heading in a gray direction, that she needed this moment of being reminded that this system that she wants to believe in will never be as fair as she wants it to be. It was important for her to sit back and observe it all and observe the way Laura (who is just as representative of the system as Molly at this point) used her influence without hesitation.
Trina blocking sociopathic mooch from her victory lap makes all the sense in the world to me in the aftermath of all of that. She wants and has to reclaim her power in the moment and remind the sociopathic mooch that despite her many wins, she didn't succeed in breaking her.
Trina wanting to play the martyr but ultimately being forced to accept that she's human and not above it all is an ongoing thing for her. Despite herself, Trina is still human and deep down, she wants her pound of flesh after being hurt like everyone else, and I think Ava is going to play an important role in Trina coming to terms with that side of herself.
What happens when the most optimistic person gets burned so much that they stop believing in doing the right thing being enough? I think we might see something like that play out with Trina.
I love this take

AVA JEROME briefs Esme Prince General Hospital (1/9/2024)
Hello! I have only recently purchased my ticket on the Sprina train but I never want to get off I’ve been obsessed for daaaays. I don’t even watch soap operas (haven’t seen GH since I was a kid in the 90s) but I have been having a blast watching their scenes and piecing together their story. They remind me of Barry Allen and Iris West from The Flash (CW) with their palpable chemistry. I’m even getting attached to the trio of Cam, Joss, and Trina throughout both castings of Trina. I just think their dynamic is adorable.
Apologies for the lengthy ask but I am noticing a lot of people don’t seem to like Joss that much and I’m wondering why? She seems funny and protective/loyal to Trina at least in what I’ve watched. You seem like a person in the fandom that folks like discoursing with so I figured I’d ask why you think folks don’t like her?
Hello and welcome to this stress-filled, but loved and superior ship that is Sprina!
The chemistry is and has always been beautiful when it comes to Sprina and both actresses have done a phenomenal job as Trina.
Josslyn....Okay, I won't speak for everyone, but for ME, Josslyn is a lot to take in because she is exactly like her mother and while she is loyal to Trina, it wasn't always like that. Josslyn is very self-centered and only thinks of herself, much like her mother.
Now granted, they have written Josslyn as a more supportive friend as of late, but they are always quick to make her think about herself again. But here were a few issues I had with Josslyn.
When Cameron wanted to date Trina, all of a sudden, Josslyn wanted him. It wasn't until Trina put Cameron in the friend zone did he finally get with Josslyn. Not to mention how she wants to know ALL of Trina's business but deliberately kept quiet about her cheating on Cameron with Dex. The shit she constantly talked about Spencer while Trina was trying to date him. She called Trina a "side piece" for accepting an art book from Spencer on Valentine's day, she enjoyed taunting Esme so much, she didn't even care if it came at the expense of Trina's safety hence why Esme CONTINUED to relentlessly go after Trina.
Those are just a few of the reasons as to why she is hated by me. Especially, her storyline with Cameron and how she tried to play victim when she cheated on him.

The look on her face is everything 😆 🤣
Trina: "I choose to put myself first. Not to go along with this dysfunctional situation that's bound to blow up. If you're going to stay with Esme and Ace, you're going to do it without me"
Trina Robinson is such a great character. First of all, love that this conflict started with Spencer threatening Trina that she wouldn't like his choice, just for Trina to end it by essentially deflating all the implied power of Spencer's ultimatum by deciding that she would choose herself.
Spencer, in the heat of the moment, tried to silence Trina's voice in their relationship, and Trina, after a lot of thought and advice, refused to be silenced. Even if it meant the end of their relationship and losing Spencer. This is such a character defining moment for her because it's Trina finally choosing herself and not allowing anyone to make her feel guilty about it. It's everything Portia acted like she couldn't do.
It carries more weight that it's in the aftermath of the nyc milestones too. This isn't a light decision for Trina. It's not an ultimatum in reaction to an ultimatum. This is Trina, firm in her decision to be prepared to walk away from a guy that she loves, possibly the love of her life, because she realizes she doesn't want to be a martyr for the rest of her life.
Ultimatums are about control, Spencer was definitely trying to control Trina in that moment. I don't really see this as Trina seeking to control Spencer but instead seeking the freedom to control her own life again. To not have it shaped by the manipulations of the sociopathic mooch that terrorized her for a year.
She respects Spencer's right to completely give up his future for his demon spawn obsession. She just won't follow him down that road. She's at peace with the risk of losing Spencer, if it means that she gets to define her own future again, something that has always presented as extremely important to Trina.
Trina is being established as the girl who will always find the strength to walk away from the prince if she has to. There's always been this back and forth discussion over whether or not Spencer will rise and grow with Trina or if Trina will be dragged down by Spencer. This line felt like Trina taking a hatchet to the idea of the latter.
It had the energy of, "I love you, but I will not drown myself with or for you". In a moment where everyone was prioritizing their advice around how to save her relationship, she ultimately chose to save herself. A powerful moment for an increasingly powerful heroine.
love this so much
Spencer, after once again, barely evading getting dumped by Trina:
NAC said in his zoom that 3 keywords for what’s next for Sprina in no particular order is love, sacrifice, and sex. So I think it’s safe to say Sprina will be getting another love scene. In regards to sacrifice, it better be about Spencer sacrificing Ace.
Another love scene you say...
And I'm with you anon. Fingers crossed the sacrifice equates to Spencer taking a step back from the father role and sticks to just being ace's brother.

Amnesia Esme: *gets rejected several times after implying she was doing Trina a favor by moving out of Laura's over her "feelings"*
Me:
It's the way she really thought she was an actual contender for Spencer's heart that made me go " Oh wow! Deluluville's population numbers just keep skyrocketing!"
people on fb feeling some type a way about jughead moving on saying it's rushed .🙄
I use to be a huge fan of betty and jughead, but I lost all respect for her and that ship the moment she cheated with Archie. Time and time again she reassured jughead that she was over him and he had nothing to worry about but that was clearly a lie. I'm also glad they brought on Tabitha she is a breath of fresh air, and is sweet and kind and cares for jughead they started as friends and grew to be more than that, I hope this relationship last and he is finally able to get over betty and fully move on to this adult relationship with love and trust and he doesn't feel like he has to play second Fiddle to someone else only to end up disappointed in the end I feel this is a new beginning for him and he deserves the most out of the core four because of the hand life dealt him from birth to now .
