A bit of backstory about Diotima (& Halinor)

Halinor is not a teenage mother, she is (half) of the elven kind, and therefore appears decades (centuries?) younger than she really is. Diotima was a happy accident between Halinor and another (half)elf. Unfortunately Diotima’s father died in a plane crash only weeks before she was born, leaving Halinor severely depressed and virtually unable to take proper care of her. And yet somehow they managed.

Something strange started happening as Diotima grew a bit older. She started suddenly disappearing and then appearing in illogical places, and sometimes she would talk about things and events that had not yet happened or had happened long before Diotima was even born. This left Halinor and their friends puzzled and worried about the child.

After careful observation, they discovered that Halinor had a time-traveling child on her hands. Great...
