analogue photography - old cameras and stuff.

playing around with the quite popular chinese lucky shd100 black&white film. You can get it via ebay for a good price (10 pieces for less then 25€) and within the lomography scene it has good quite a reputation. however - i was rather disappointed - it is allright, but i cannot find anything spectacular in this film.

oh yes, almost forgot - the camera was a minolta dynax 4 with the default 28-100 lens.

The Konstruktor. A DIY SLR camera for 35€, you can buy it online from lomography.com. More infos here. As you see, mine results with this camera are utter crap and i cannot recommend to buy this camera to anyone. the lens is distorted (see 1. pic). The viewfinder is too dark to focus properly. I didn't "point and shoot", i really tried to get the focus right, but the result is...

Allright, after we got the toy cameras covered, let's get back to the good ones. These are photos taken with a Porst Compact Reflex OC, with an Exakta 70-210 lens on a Vivitar 2x multiplier. I like the results, maybe a little bit to much noise in it?

Another plastic toy camera, the Oppex 7090. Well, the Oppex is a rubbish piece of crap. Do not buy it, ever.

Some results with a Nokina NK4040. The Nokina is a fake-slr toy camera, which you find on ebay from time to time. Mine makes some strange light leaks which i cannot explain. Strange camera, strange results. Never used it since them cows.

Again the Holga 135BC. Shots were taken in poland, wodzislaw slaski.

And yet more shots with the chinon cp9-af. weather conditions were'nt that good, the light was rather mellow. but i just had to go out and shoot. film was once again an fuji iso 200

Allright chaps, so here are the proper results with the chinon cp9-af. This time the film was an ISO200 fuji. No problems with noise here, the images are unedited - this might be the best analogue camera i own.

These are some shots with the chinon cp9-af. It is fully automated, you just point and shoot, the camera takes care of the rest. Actually the chinon is a really, really good camera - if it manages to read the film right. In this case here - an agfa vista iso 400 film - it didn't. I'm not sure what the problem was - the scans of the film showed heavy noise, which i had to de-noise with topaz (best denoiser for photoshop btw). The film had 36 shots, but chinon stopped after 24. It just read the dx-code wrong, i suspect. I also made some shots with fuji 200 film - the results were fantastic.

This might be my favourite camera: the Braun SR2000. It captures nice colours, the lens is good and sharp. it has no automatic fuzz at all, just a light meter. that is everything you need. it feels good and well made.

Agfa Sensor 200. The results were rather disappointing, only 5 of 36 shots were good, the rest was either over or underexposed. maybe a problem with the light detector. no idea. never used this camera since this session.

Some shots with the Carena CX-300 and an Exakta 70-210mm macro lens on a pk mount. It's a nice little camera with no automatics, which always is a good thing. It's shutter speed is max. 1/2000. The Location is Haan in Germany.
