My second South Park AU, Return of The Cult [RoTC]
This AU is surrounding Kenneth McKormic and his immortality; the Cult of Cthulu returning to South Park to try and resummon Cthulu with the help of Kenny. It's a sort of Spin off of the 'Coon and Friends trilogy'.
It all starts with the rising crime rates, just as before. At first, everyone thought it was Cartman again. Perhaps another Mitch situation. Turns out it wasn't. Coon and Friends [or Freedom Pals], decided to band back together, Mysterion and Dr. Timothy taking over as Co-leaders.
All is well [enough] for awhile [except for the fact that there's these signs everywhere;]
The heros didnt know what they meant, but they didnt try to look into it. The crimes mostly consisted of theft, the perpetrators being uncaught and unseen.
One night, on a nice night, The Coon calls Mysterion, instructing him to go to a house for a lone mission the Dr informed him of. It was the Biggles house. It was reported suspicious activity, the basement glowing with candle light. The goths were down there, in robes, in a circle. It's the circle used by the Cthulu cultist members to summon him.
The goths later find out he has the necronomicon, and finding out he is part outer god due to the ritual preformed on in him in the womb [Mysterion can represent Hastur but IS NOT possessed by him]
After encountering and speaking to the goths, Kenny has dreams of the summonings and the gods, causing him to research more and more during the day. The goths slowly get him more into the occult, more interested with his immortality and the rituals. One day, finally, they tell him about the cult. The one that had been in town before when he figured out he was an offspring of the outer god. They had been painting their sigil all over town, and stealing items for their rituals with the goths help.
They promise Kenny that if he joins, he'd be loved, safe, well fed, and appreciated. They'd worship him, as he'd lead, and he could finally be something in life to people, being listened to.
He rejects at first, thinking mostly of Karen [not really anyone else, maybe Butters] but they said they can take care of her too. Eventually he gives in. Somewhat being brainwashed by the cult, but also by his own free will, and by the need for attention [he dosnt get love at home, cut him some slack] he officially joins the cult, being worshipped, treated as the second coming of outer Cthulu, the one being able to summon him.
Eventually though, people notice. Kennys family, [besides Karen], had gone completely missing. Kenny aswell. The boys notice first, then Butters. They investigate, eventually leading back to the goths. They confess at a point, telling the boys Kenneth has fulfilled what he was meant to do; lead the occult of his maker.
