Bucky wakes up John with a small kiss to his forehead, before scooping the boy up into his arms. “Johnny. I’ve got a surprise for you.”

"Hmm..?" He sleepily picked his head up off of Bucky's shoulder to rub his eyes. He stretched and blinked slowly as he looked around, adjusting to his surroundings. He let out a sleepy yawn and laid his head back into the crook of Bucky's neck. He felt content to doze against Bucky's chest until he would be inevitably stirred awake again.
Bucky bounces John a little, rubbing his back. He’s almost inclined to let the little one nap for longer, but it’s already 11 am and they need to hit the road.
“We’re gonna spend some time at a beach house, Johnny.” He kisses John’s head. “For a whole week, hear that?”
"A whole week.?" He asked as he lifted his head again, this time looking much more awake than last time. He was still too tired for the excited jitters to hit just yet, but he was definitely awake now. He squirmed a bit in your arms as he started chewing gently on the knuckle of his pointer finger.
"I get to build a sand castle?" He asked gently, his voice still thick with sleep that was slowly leaving his tone the more he spoke.
Bucky chuckles, reaching over to snag John’s pacifier that had fallen out of his mouth when he was sleeping. He presses it into John’s mouth, moving his fingers away from his lips. “Good boy. Yes, you can make a sand castle.” He sits John down on his changing table. “We’re taking the jet to get there, but it’s okay, we can watch lots of Bluey on the way.” He makes quick work of changing John, patting his padded butt, before hefting John back into his arms.
He hummed softly around the pacifier and took to it quickly with little fuss. He squirmed and fussed just a bit but let Bucky change him without much of a fight.
He snuggled close and dozed off gently now that he had his pacifier back, the rhythm of the suckling lulling him back into sleep. He lazily watched as Bucky made sure they had everything ready to go, double checking all their bags and making sure the appropriate clothes were packed.
Bucky sets John down in his play-pen to keep him occupied while Bucky packs everything up. He eventually offers the boy a sippy cup full of juice to tide him over until they get on the plane and can have a real meal.
"Which stuffy are you gonna bring with you, buddy? And we gotta make sure to pack your blankie."
He fusses at being put in the playpen and shuffled over to the edge to watch Bucky from behind the gate. He pouts but ultimately he doesn't throw a fit just gives Bucky pitiful sad eyes.
He happily accepts his sippy cup and sets his pacifier aside for later and begins to suck on the spicket of the cup. He glances away as he thinks about which stuffy he should bring, he lets go of the sippy cup with a 'pop' sound and turns to face you. "Think 'm gonna take m' puppy.."
Bucky finishes up with the big kid bags, before moving to pack a normal diaper bag, and then finally moving onto John, picking out his Blue's Clues backpack and lifting the boy up out of his playpen. "Okay, go get puppy to put in the bag." He crouches down, snagging John by the arm before he can rush off, putting the backpack on his back and buckling the straps together in the front. "Good boy, now you can go."
He rushed off as quick as he could without falling. He got to his room and climbed up into his bed to fish around the sheets and find his puppy. When he found him he pulled him out from his spot under the blanket and smiled. "Hi puppy..." He mumbled softly as he snuggled the stuffed toy in his arms.
"c'mon," he carried his stuffed baby to the living room where Bucky was busy packing everything to go. "I got m' puppy. See?" He asked sweetly as he held the stuffed dog up to show to Bucky.
"Good job, buddy." Bucky smiles, before accepting the puppy and gently putting him into the backpack. "Now, I need you to pick one for the plane ride." Bucky holds up John's DS and his Switch, letting him choose which one he wants to bring with him.
He beamed under the praise before he watched Bucky slip his stuffed dog into the backpack. He heard the question about the devices and he looked at the two games in Bucky's hands as he debated.
"uuhh.." He stared at both of the devices as he carefully considered. "Switch. Please." He made sure to use his manners as he held out his hand, waiting to be handed the device.
Bucky shakes his head when John puts out his hand. “Nope. It’s going in your bag, buddy. Y’know why?” He slips the Switch in its case into the backpack. “So that little forgetful babies don’t leave it at home.” He kisses John’s head, before blowing a raspberry on his cheek. “Now, let’s go pick out some snacks.”
He pouts as it slides into the bag and he crosses his arms. " 'm not a baby, 'm a big boy." He insisted firmly. His furrowed eyebrows softened when you pressed a kiss to his forehead. He giggled gently at the raspberry blow against his cheek and he trailed behind you to help pick out snacks, being extra careful not to trip over his own feet.
“Yeah? I’m sure your a very big boy.” He gives John a couple options for what snacks he can take on the plane with him. “Can you pick a couple, buddy?” He makes John a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to eat on the flight along with his snacks.

If I want to spend my time with you John, I would say that is very worth it to me. Ignoring the loser comment at least. Maybe things haven't been good lately with you, but I think you are a good man. Deep down inside under all that grouchiness.
