I WATCHED THE ORV LIVE ACTION (ft. hsy and CHONKLEB yjh) (oh yeah and my friend's kdj)
honestly it was kinda sad the theater was empty except for like 2 other ppl but ig that made me feel a bit better abt cosplaying. tho then again it could have been empty bc I watched the movie in the afternoon
so i'm glad they kept the translation pretty faithful like kdj is kim dokja (NOT DOKJA KIM 🤮) and its dokkaebi not goblin.

it's kind of disappointing bc as u can see from the text bihyuk mentions a Korean patch, but that doesnt make much sense because there was no build up into like not understanding the dokkaebis.
so like originally this scene was meant to showcase yoo sangah's language ability, however this film basically cuts out all the personal skills/the skill u start with or like they turned it into a skill u get from your sponsor instead. Which i get it's for time constraints and stuff, but this means...

or like at least it's not shown. like tls doesnt even send kdj the og pdf of twsa
But yeah in this scene bihyuk mentions a language patch but that doesnt make much sense because he literally doesnt speak before this moment and like the audience doesnt really know that humans dont understand dokkaebbis.
lol me and my friend joked that they would make yjh stand on a box but I didnt actually expect then to do that
But what i really wanted to talk abt is like is ysa's (yoo sangah) string bridge (yeah they just had ysa make a bridge with strings instead of the like the 2 person bridge scenario) and strings in general. Like personally for me, It sort of felt like her strings were kind of too loose or thick? I think personally it would have been cool if the they went with like a quick Spiderman web shooter sort of direction with the strings, but they sort of directed like plants growing? So it kind of moved a bit too awkward and slow for my taste
Okay like one of the gripes I have is with this one scene where ysa helps jung heewon swing somewhere in the subway in a high speed chase and sort of directed like:
Like it's filmed from the side and the thread sort of acts as a thick arm that moves her
but I sorta wish the thread acted more as a rope like:
like u knoooow spoderman thwip and release sort of physics. but like mostly I wish she was coming towards the camera
(also sorry if these story boards are hard to understand im rusty)
And like speaking of which alot of shots were filmed from the side and idk if that was to sort of emulate the manhwa but uh... idk how I feel abt it

Oh I did think this shot was cool tho!!
And like kdj'a landing after defeating the rat king was also pretty cool. And then the lee jihye's like green square sniper shot and final sniper shot were pretty cool.
Which yeah lets talk about the guns...

but yeah yjh would just walk past ppl not looking at them and shoot them with a gun but I legit could not take him seriously
And then like jihye it kinda just made her introduction kinda funny/awkward. because she kills someone from a far and like she was just a small voice when she first arrived.
Yeah but like i feel like most chrs are pretty faithful like (I liked ysa and lee gilyoung) but like I felt kdj was like pretty ooc
like bro said twsa's plot is the worst TWICE
THE KDJ I KNOW WOULD GLAZE THE HELL OUT OF THIS STORY
So like here kdj doesnt like that twsa a story that abandons everyone else for the one protagonist, which like kdj resents because he also hates himself too for doing that once in the past (bc here he killed a classmate bc he was forced by bullies to go against someone else) but he also loves it bc it was a story that seemed like it was justifying his wrong deed
So basically his chr arc is supposed to be like: coward who sits around watching, going along with the flow of society/story and someone who lives solely for themsleves -> work together to defy fate blah blah
and I can excuse this bc I get it time constraints. gotta have a finished chr arc by the end of the movie. but what I cannot excuse IS THE LOSS OF KDJ'S SASS
he is not as sassy as he could have been. but he does call yjh an asshole.
Like the scene where he's negotiating the contract with bihyuk like theres no bartering the contract, it jumps straight to like "I agree let's split 50/50" and like theres no signing the contract or like "deal" and idk just felt sort of unnatural like smth was missing
But anyways as an orv fan it was still a fun watch to trash on with my friends.
