As a writer AO3 having a censorship policy would not only mean to be striped away from the only creative and copying mechanism I have but also the loss of great works that need to be preserved because their great artistic value-and the emotional value to me and thousand others.

Besides, letting someone like this Tiffany person who asides of being against EVERYTHING AO3 stands for has no previous Fandom experience whatsoever have a chair on OTW is outrageous.

Everyone who can vote please take a look of a candidate of the Organization for Transformative Works, which is running AO3.

This candidate Tiffany G, who’s working in a governmental organization, apparently wants to bring some kind of censorship into AO3.

Just take a look at this person’s interview (https://elections.transformativeworks.org/chat-transcript-august-1/), it’s basically talked about censorship and “make a better public image of AO3 since it’s banned in China because of ‘child p*rnography’”.

As a Chinese reader who has been into fanfics for years, and who also witnessed the whole f*cked up thing that caused AO3 being banned from China, I just wanna say this Tiffany G IS LYING.

This person ignored the fact that AO3 was reported to gov by a group of Chinese fans (which apparently are a celebrity’s fans, just because they were furious with a fic which has trans main character that didn’t match their taste). The most unbelievable thing is, some fans tried to blame AO3 for “allowing child p*rnography”. Go ask any Chinese AO3 user in any fandom and they would tell you the truth.

I just can’t believe this kind of censorship SHIT is still f*cking around with us, and even attempt to interfere with fandoms. I’m so disgusted. Too many interesting stuff has been interfered by censorship, don’t let AO3 be the next one. So anyone who has the right to vote please take a look, and DON’T VOTE FOR Tiffany G.

AO3 donators, it’s voting time. And one particular candidate not only doesn’t understand AO3 on a fundamental level (somehow, despite being a tenured user and an unfortunate volunteer) but actively wants to push censorship. They are the exact kind of person we don’t need involved with OTW or AO3 for that matter. The same kind of person we have to actively fight against like, all the time. I frankly don’t know how the hell they even became a volunteer but, anyway. Got vote for people who won’t actively work to destroy it.
