Riley simply stood and blinked for a few moments. He was treated carefully—albeit as if he was a little dull— without a single voice getting raised at him for the past few days. So the raised and slightly harsh tone was startling at best, scary at worst. Finally, he found his bearings and responded.

“It’s okay. Um, why did you need my attention?”

"You're, uh...kinda standing in front of the elevator," she said awkwardly. It turns out that spending her whole life in front of a camera with all social interactions being rehersed caused someone to not know how to operate in an organic social setting. Who knew?

Riley glanced behind him and, sure enough, he was right in front of it. He immediately stepped to the side, an awkward look finding itself on his face.

“Oh! Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize,” he said, an apologetic expression replacing the previous one. “I, uh, I was waiting for it and didn’t realize the carriage arrived. I’m really sorry.”
