“You’re stuck with me forever, I hope you realize that.” Riley said with a laugh before she bit down on her lip as Mordecai ran his fingers up her sides. “Okay, so I was ten years out. I’m not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree,” she laughed a little before cocking her head “you seem so sure about that,” she smirked.
{♏} || “Forever is too short, love.” Mordecai softly muttered into her dark tangles ”The weeks you were gone felt like an eternity. I hate being without you.” Softly running his hands back down her side, his finger found his way lower and lower to lightly rest on bottom “Ten years is nothing cause I’m twenty forever. Either way, I feel like you’re challenging me.” With a soft smirk, he snaked his free arm to her face, using his lone finger to tilt her head towards his so that he could place a passionate kiss upon her lips.
"You're quite the charmer aren't you?" Riley smiled, a soft laugh escaping her lips. Her hands rested on his chest as she kissed back just as passionatly, her heart beating one hundred miles a minute like it always did with him. Everything about her was better when she was with him.

A small smile spread across her face “he’s all I had, you know? He was my family. But he’s not anymore, he doesn’t love me anymore.” Riley said with a sigh as she thought of Ry, he’d saved her so many times and she couldn’t help but wonder what had made him change. “But it’s alright, I’ve got you know. You’re my family,” she said before craning her head and placing a kiss on his lips. “Wait… Does this mean I’ve had sex with a fourty six year old?” She said, knowing her math was probably off but laughing anyway.
{♏} || “I’m honored you’d consider me your family.” he muttered, kissing her temple softly “You’re definitely part of mine now, Mariella would agree too. We’d do anything to protect you, love. ” Letting a chuckle slide past his lips, he softly began to run his fingers up her sides. ”I’d be thirty-six this year.” He shot back in joking defense “And you know you loved it….”

“I’m like him you know,” Riley said with a soft voice her mind trying to avoid the question by thinking about the yelling fit Ry and Riley had that tore them apart. “My dad, I mean, I’m alot more like him than I like to admit. Ry says so,” she said before looking down and picking at her fishnet tights. She wasn’t even in her right mind to take things as seriously as they should be, but she knew that was for the better. She’d get angry and black out otherwise and the ending wouldn’t be pretty for anyone. “Twenty seven years? Wow. You’re old. But I love you anyway,” she said with a shrug.
{♏} || “Ry’s a disgusting piece of shit.” Mordecai shot angrily “He’s pathetic, because you’re nothing like him. I know. I was around. He’s a peice of shit and so is Ry, you on the other hand are the kindest, most beautiful woman I’ve ever met.” Snaking his arm around her shoulder, Mordecai pulled her close, fingers softly stroking her arm in an attempt to show his care. With a soft chuckle, he wrapped his other arm around Riley, rocking her into his chest, kissing her softly on the forehead. “Not twenty seven yet.” he chuckled softly, kissing soft butterfly kisses against the top of her ears “But you love an old man, how does that feel? If it helps at all, this old man loves you too.”
A small smile spread across her face "he's all I had, you know? He was my family. But he's not anymore, he doesn't love me anymore." Riley let a small sigh escape her lips before she ran a free hand through her hair “my money’s on Ry. If he can fuck up me, he’ll fuck up Mariella.” She said through closed lips, before frowning a little and looking down at her hands. Something had snapped in Ry, she didn’t know what it was but he was different. He wasn’t the same guy that was practically her big brother anymore. The dakr haired girl looked up before giving him a completely fake, but reassuring smile. She was best at faking those, “nothing, I’m fine.”
{♏} || Ry. That disgusting little cretin. Of course it would have been him, Mordecai knew that he would have never been able to hold up a gentleman’s promise. ”What do you mean by that?” He asked softly, face pulled into a scowl “What did he do to you? Please, Riley, please I just want to help. I want to help you and I want to help Mariella and I just….I don’t like to see you like this. Riley…I’ve been dead for almost twenty-seven years, and with Mariella no less. You can’t hide the the look in your eyes behind a painted on smile. Please. I just want to help.”

“Alone?” She asked with raised eyebrows, Mordecai was hardly ever alone. “What about Mariella?” She asked curiously, maybe she had missed out on something big in her absence and that didn’t help quell the guilt that was already eating at her.
{♏} || “She hasn’t been around much.” Mordecai stated shortly, eyes diverted down to their intertwined digits as he flipped their hands over, back and forth a few times “Hasn’t even been talking to me. She just….hides and sometimes I hear this….horrible wailing. Girl’s practically turned into a banshee. She’ll snap out of it eventually…I hope.” The look of guilt that shone in Riley’s eyes tore his heart to pieces but he didn’t know how to help…hell he barely knew what was wrong. ”Riley, love, what’s wrong? I can see it in your eyes.”

Riley knew something was off, she could feel it. She hated it. She turned to face him after he grabbed her hand and she leant over and place a kiss on his lips “I love you okay, I couldn’t be mad at you if I tried.” She said with a small smile “I missed you too, I just needed to be alone.”
{♏} || He couldn’t help but let a large smile slide across his face as her lips parted his. That was the past now; Riley was here now and that’s all that mattered. “Good.” Mordecai chuckled out, lightly running his thumb over the back of her hand “It’s been rather boring here without you….I’ve actually been alone surprisingly.” Just a hint, just a little hint. Mordecai wasn’t sure how, or even if he should, tell Riley what had happened in her absence. About Mariella and her sudden shift in behavior.
"Alone?" She asked with raised eyebrows, Mordecai was hardly ever alone. "What about Mariella?" She asked curiously, maybe she had missed out on something big in her absence and that didn't help quell the guilt that was already eating at her.

Riley’s head snapped up at the familiar voice. Her exterior crumpled even more as she saw Mordecai, the guilt piling up in her stomach even more. “I’m already dead, so no harm, no foul.” She said with a weak smile, her usual sarcastic, snarky exterior gone. “I’ve been… around,” she said before taking another sip. There wasn’t really another way to put it, she had been around. Just not visible.
{♏} || “Around…” he repeated softly, slinking down next to her “A-are you mad at me?….did something happen? I….I mean I know we’re dead but….” Mordecai didn’t know what to say, he felt dejected….unwanted….the usual bright vigor he held for her dimmed by his racing thoughts. Sliding his hand down, he tightly gripped hers in his, giving it a small squeeze before leaning over to give her a small kiss on the cheek. ”I missed you.”

Riley sat on the floor, a bottle of Jack in hand as she periodically took swigs from it. She’d disappeared, she just up and made herself invisble to the rest of the ghosts, to the breathers, to everyone. Now she sat on the floor of the bedroom she’d claimed as hers and tried to drink away the guilt that was eating away at her stomach for doing it.
{♏} || “Riley….” Mordecai’s voice was a soft, hush of a whisper. He couldn’t believe it, she’d just…vanished. From him, from Mariella, from everyone. Seeing her here…it felt like a dream. Slowly he approached her, fingers outstretched till they made contact with the spirit’s shoulder. God he just wanted to kiss her and hold her, but there was more important business at this time. “Stop drinkin’ like you’re trying to kill yourself, sweetheart,” he murmured, hunching down to her level “where have you been? I’ve missed you.”

Yep. I'm back. I don't know if any of you missed me or whatever but I'm back regardless.
Maybe It's Time|| Lost in the tide
“It’s beautiful,” Riley commented as she looked over the great blue expanse of water and as she listened to the crashing of the waves. She blew some of her hair out of her eyes and looked over at Mordecai, a smile on her face before she grabbed one of his hands that was buried in his pockets before entertwining her fingers with his and giving it a squeeze. “I’ve never really seen the ocean, I mean, I have but in pictures and stuff or from the window of a plane. I’ve never been this close to it,” she confessed. The cool salt water breeze that rolled off of the ocean was calming to her, it was like it was taking all of her problems as it rolled past her. Being here with Mordecai felt right.
{♏} || Mordecai felt as his face began to flush a deep red as Riley intertwined her fingers with his. When he had stepped out of his apartment this morning and put in his headphone to talke a simple walk, he had never expected this to happen. Now here they were, staring out into the vast expanse with laced fingers. ”You’re something special, Riley.” Mordecai muttered softly breaking his gaze at the ocean to look her in the eyes. She looked so beautiful in this moment, brown tangles blowing in the wind with her wide smile. It was true, she had just appeared out of the blue and affected him in a way that no other human being ever had before. With light fingers he brushed the hair from her eyes, letting his fingers linger softly on her cheek before lowering them back to his side. “I’m so glad I met you.”
Riley could feel a smile grow on her face as she saw Mordecai blush "you're cute when you blush." She said with a small laugh before squeezing his hand, she felt at peace for the first time since she was little. It seemed as if with the meeting of one guy, everything had changed. The pain coursing through her body was shoved so far to the back of her mind that she didn't realize it was there anymore and she was smiling. She hadn't smiled since she was fourteen. A blush grew over her cheeks as he moved her hair out of her eyes. "The feeling is mutal. I think you've changed my life."
