Hopefullyyyy I'll finish this ꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱///
“That'll just be 12.50$.” The cashier said, gesturing to the card reader. Anita smiles and pulls her card out from her mess of a purse, tapping it thoughtlessly. Just thinking about the coffee and cake she ordered made her giddy. There wasn't a better way to end her day off. Maybe afterwards she should pick out a slice of cake for Carmilla-
A big, red X on the screen brought Anita back to reality. Declined? Her card? She's a millionaire. This hasn't happened since she was in high school! She feels her face heat up as she looks at the cashier. “Um, sorry. I'm just gonna- um.” She moves to the side and opens the bank app on her phone. Her spendings account was empty. What the hell? It looks like her other accounts had gone untouched, but still, she knows she had at least 30k on there.
Quickly, she goes to text Carmilla. Months ago, she convinced Anita to change accountant's to the one her family uses. She didn't put up a fuss, and the day dragged on for so long she just started signing anything Carmilla told her to. It's probably how they ended up with a joint account. It's not so bad, though, she's a lot better at finance stuff than Anita is.
Annie_Babie: the money from my spendings acc is gone
Annie_Babie: r we hacked? ᐢ. ֑ .ᐢ
It takes a good two minutes for Carmilla to respond. Possibly the longest two minutes of her life. She wasn't worried about going broke, no, Carmilla was more than capable of supporting them both. She was worried about losing what she's worked for. She prides herself on making her fortune on her art alone. Besides, if someone out there has her bank information, they could spend on whatever they wanted- charities funding concentration camps, buying cops donuts, paying a creepy old man's rent-
Carmie_Babie: No, we're fine. Do you need money for something?
We're fine. Well, that was good news, but it didn't calm her completely. She still had questions, and even though it hasn't happened yet, Carmilla could be wrong.
Annie_Babie: where did the money go then?
Carmie_Babie: I moved it. Having free reign on all this money isn't good for you. If you ever need any, you can ask and I'll give it to you.
Anita feels her jaw tighten before she feels the surge of anger run through her. She goes back to her bank app and tries to transfer 200 dollars to her spendings account. Instead, a pop up came up with only the option of an ‘Ok’ button.
Not ‘ok’. She didn't want to press that! She wanted to throw her phone at the wall and do something she's not supposed to, anything at all that will show Carmilla she's mad. Before she could fully process that thought, her phone pinged.
Carmie_Babie: What do you need money for, Angel?
Anita needed a plan. Whining at Carmilla that what she's doing is wrong gets her nowhere- if Carmilla can make it happen, she'll do it, despite Anita's opinion. Anita needed something long term. Something that really fucks with Carmilla's head.
Annie_Babie: coffee and cake.
Carmie_Babie: OK, I'll send you 20. Be home before 3:30. Love you.
Anita turns off her phone and rejoins the line. What would piss Carmilla off?
“Can I get the black forest cake please?” Yeah. She's gonna eat a whole cake in bed and watch TV. Well, maybe not the whole cake… but a lot of the cake. And she's not gonna share it, either! It's her money, after all.
The ride home in her pink Cadillac had her mind racing with vengeance. She couldn't just start breaking rules, that was too obvious- too easy to stop. Carmilla would spank her, or lock her inside, and Anita would give up. She wants to make Carmilla regret keeping her money from her. Something mean.
Anita enters their townhouse as quietly as her pink heels will let her. Carmilla would be working in her office, the room on the second floor, opposite their bedroom. She takes her shoes off and carries them with her up the stairs. She makes it to her bedroom without any hiccups and change into a pink velvet jumpsuit. it's soft, with dramatic bell bottom pants and a low cut to show off cleavage. She chucks the heels she wore out into the corner of her walk in closet and slips into a pair of toeless heels with pink fur on the band. Maybe sweat pants and an oversized tee shirt would be more comfortable, but glamorous clothes made her feel like herself. They could rip her designer clothes out of her cold, dead hands.
It's not that she wants to avoid Carmilla forever, she just doesn't want to face her yet. She's hurt. Carmilla went behind her back and stole her money from her, because having free reign on all this money isn't good for her. Carmilla thinks she's stupid and unstable. Why couldn't she have a loving partner that respected her?
She turns on her TV and puts on Dream Home Makeover. At least Carmilla was loving. It's more than she's had in a long time. Maybe if she fights in just the right way, she can bend the rules and earn some respect.
