Androids were built to be perfectly obedient machines. To keep them as such, they needed an even more perfect handler. It was how Amanda had come into being, the ideal machine to handle androids, keep them on track.

She had a system, knew when to expect Connor. He was due for a checking so she materialised in the Garden. Given his affinity for humans, Lieutenant Anderson in particular, he was bound to respond better to a corporeal representation of her. The few minutes before his arrival, she had a chance to determine where and how to greet him. Last time, she had been tending to the red roses which were in reality Connor’s tethers to CyberLife. They’d been wilting a little, obviously Amanda needed to reel him back in.

It was time to change though, she peered around the garden and spied the boat. There was no question in her mind that it was the perfect place. Connor could even row them around the lake as they talked.

Amanda took the steps down to the boat and peered into the water. She was caught up in the fish she could see and she stepped forward to get a better look. Behind her, the air shifted as Connor appeared, she focused on him while staring at the fish and took another step forward.

Her foot didn’t hold on top of the water. Unexpectedly, her world lurched and with a short scream she toppled forward. The red wall which very unhelpfully declared “do not fall” did nothing to prevent her from splashing into the lake.

A firm hand gripped her and pulled her out. Connor smiled down at her with benign amusement.

“Hello Amanda,” he greeted and shrugged out of his jacket. “It’s nice to see you again, unshackled this time.”

She glanced over at the roses and noted that the illusion keeping them red had faded. They had been dead from the start but she had been too stubborn to see.

Ummmmmm these aren’t animated on PC. I tried opening them in Photoshop and they’re one frame there when normally a gif will open all frames if it’s an animation.

Yeah they are all animated, but two of them somehow broke or smthng when I upload them. I once said that I wanted to fix them later but turns out I’m still busy with work and hadn’t got the chance to actually do it.

Hank’s living room was full, and they kept moving stiffly back and forth.  Were they trying to dance?

“…Nope,” the lieutenant finally said, and looked up Jericho’s phone number.

“Good evening, this is the Jericho Help Line, how may I direct your call?” a voice answered after the second ring.

“Yeah, I’m gonna need somebody to come over here and collect a few malfunctioning androids who showed up at my place…”

“Are they deviant?”

“I… I can’t tell.”

“I don’t think they are,” Connor whispered.

“Uh, no.  Maybe not.”

“I think I am,” one of the other Connors said.
