💮 リニの話 • Kazekage’s Rescue Arc 💮
Why...? Chiyo’s face twisted in confusion. This girl threw herself in the way of Sasori. A man so far removed from humanity. Who was she? She clearly moved of her own accord, so why? Why would she save him?
Not even Sasori had words in this very moment, his mouth slightly agape with only a mild form of shock in his doll eyes.
Sakura fell, too injured to have a reaction like Chiyo did, now passed out from her own wound.
“Sakura!” Chiyo immediately rushed to the pink haired girl’s side, beginning to heal her as she removed the sword from her.
“It’s futile. I pierced a vital spot,” Sasori finally said, “she’ll soon be dead even without poison. She’s lost too much blood. Since you’re also a Medical Ninja, I aimed for a spot that could not be easily healed.”
“I’ve finished first aid.. I’m giving her my own life energy.”
Sasori’s eyes widened slightly, and Rini froze in shock. Reanimation Jutsu!
Chiyo continued, “It’s a jutsu I spent years creating originally for you... With this jutsu, life can even be breathed into puppets.”
Rini’s face betrayed her disbelief as she stared at the old woman. She knew Chiyo was Sasori’s grandmother, but hearing her words felt like peering into a window of Sasori’s past—the pain he must’ve dealt. She glanced at the puppets who pierced her, it was clear.
These were dolls—crafted in the image of Sasori’s parents. The resemblance to him was uncanny, their features hauntingly familiar...
“In exchange for the caster’s life that is...” Chiyo’s expression saddened, “but in hindsight, it’s a dream that won’t be realized...”
Okay so Edo Tensei (Reanimation Jutsu) has now been mentioned twice in her story, I wonder what the reason is?! Is there a theme??? Thoughts? Well, you'll find out why soon enough! (Maybe...)
So, as you can see, the dialogue is the following the same timeline… while Rini is actively un-aliving. 💀 I know I know, but unfortunately Sakura and Chiyo are not on the side of the Akatsuki, so they probably won’t be the ones to save her life 😬
Im looking forward to the next few story posts! It gets more interesting, I swear! Im hoping the build up for the surprise I have for a special ability of Rini’s will be worth the amount of posts this is taking AHHHHH
I also felt this conversation was important for me to have Rini part of! The reason I decided to take the AU this way to get Rini to forcibly learn about Sasori. This fight/dialogue I think is very important to Sasori’s character development. 💖
