My goal in talking about my sexuality publicly is just so that a scared little girl or little boy can see me do it and think, ‘wow, if she did it, then maybe it’s OK that I do it.’ It’s to encourage people to be themselves. Equality for all is what we should all want, between race, religion, gender, sexuality… it doesn’t matter. We’re all equal and we should treat each other as such.

Am I happy with what Rhea said? No.

Am I just gonna toss a cookie bc she apologized? No.

But some of y’all have to learn how to handle things without making it all black & white. “She’s homophobic.” No. The comment was homophobic. It was dumb. It was stupid. Her apology was half-assed, too, yes, but do I think she’s homophobic? Absolutely not.

Stop cancel culture. Stop the “one strike, you’re out” mentality.

Let people learn & improve, for once. You shoot people for tripping up and then wonder why there’s no good person in the world. There are good people. They just happen to be human beings who make mistakes, like we all do. You’d see that if you stopped viewing them as dead to the world once they impede on your views.

And by no means am I saying that you can’t be upset. No. Be sad, mad, angry, unstan her, do whatever. But if you’re going to rant/preach on here, at least be logical about it. Don’t vehemently insist that she’s homophobic, or that she needs to be in the doghouse with everyone. The whole fandom doesn’t share your view, so don’t make me feel like a bad person for not being straight-up angry.
