You mentioned an "original" last name for Alistair, and I'm very curious about what it is, why, and what it was changed for!!

He is the son of Alice Riddleberry, who was seen as "crazy" in the real world, for all her stories that somehow ended up in the ears of the town where she lived with her son.

There were many people who thought she was not capable of taking care of the child and Alice knew it, she knew that they would try to take her son away from her, so in advance she made one last trip to Wonderland asking her old friends to please take care of him, since Alistair might travel to Wonderland but never return to his "home" ever again as the Riddleberry would always be seen as crazy.

Since he arrived in Wonderland by falling down the rabbit hole he completely forgot his last name, just like her mother did in the past when traveling there, so the Queen of Hearts give him that last name, being renamed as "Alistair Wonderland".

The concept came about initially when I had no idea how the whole destination thing worked at EAH, and in the end I liked the idea, that in order for Alice to be able to live in Wonderland she would have to fulfill her destiny to be part of the story and well, not go crazy from her stay there. Due to changes in "Wonderland history" that brought the kingdom to the brink of destruction, Alice was unable to complete her destiny and that is why when she returned to her reality, others saw her as someone strange.

For now this is what I can tell without giving away spoilers for the rest of the story, I hope I have clarified your doubt. Btw sorry if I misspelled something but English is not my first language 🩵
