TERA TAROT: The Emperor

Featuring: Tera

I’m going out of order again since I didn’t start in order, this being one of the first ones I made and I am out of town for the week.

Tera is the leader of the Fire Clan on Hydrii Island, a paradise for the dragon people the isle is named after. She reigns with a blunt fist of iron, adamant in her ways. One day a stranger from a distant land seeks her aid in finding a legendary place. Her life changes as she gets caught in a whirlwind of adventure and learns to be the kind soul she was centuries ago.

TERA TAROT: The Magician 

Featuring: Wick

I’m pretty proud of this card for all its small details, along with the orb effect.

Wick is a member of a subspecies of Hydrii known as Wraith Hydrii. They are known for using their own brand of magic instead of having an elemental affiliation. She has some talent despite her age and upbringing, mostly channeling her magical energy into defensive attacks. She also dabbles in using it for self-expression as she is not very talkative. The Magician is her card, as she dedicates her life to the study of various types of magic after being rescued by Tera and becoming a member of her band of adventurers.

TERA TAROT: The Lovers

Featuring: Royal and Mimi

Sorry this one’s a little late and for no content last week, some real life stuff got in the way. 

But in honor of Valentine’s day this week, let’s go out of order and feature The Lovers card!

The Lovers is a straightforward card, depicting two figures in love. Likewise, the design for this card is simple. I chose Royal and Mimi for the couple on the card as their love is strong and whole. They build up one another and are always there for each other. Royal is one of the few survivors of a race of powerful magical creatures who were enslaved and destroyed by one of their own; Mimi is the daughter of an extremely hostile, violent, and abusive mother that she fled with the help of her brother Strykal. No longer having families, they made their own with two kids, Mimi’s brother, and his partner Peaches.

TERA TAROT: The Fool

Featuring: D’har and Kinder

Let’s kick this blog off with Tera Tarot, a biweekly series of Rise of Tera themed tarot cards featuring various characters.

The Fool is a card that depicts a young man, eager and optimistic about the world around him. I feel like D’har embodies this. He travels the world with naivete about everything outside his village due to his inexperience. His hero is Tera; though as far as he or anyone in his village knows, she’s a mythical figure whose stories are passed down, likely exaggerated or never really happened. He believes his hero is out there somewhere though, setting off to seek her aid on a quest to find a great hidden treasure.

Also on the card is his brother Kinder, who is a little more cynical and distant, but wishes to share in his brother’s optimism. Despite his gruff persona, he cares for his little brother immensely. He also idolizes Tera from the myths and legends told about her in their youth, though believes she is just a character from a story more than his brother.
