An plague clan with lore I rarely ever take seriously, some dragons have bios. Others don't thanks to bad case of writer block. Very amateurish in the writing I do have, but I'm here to have fun. Not to become a professional in dragon writing.

Smart guy with green goggles vs smart guy(s/gender neutral) with green goggles. Spent ages trying to figure out a composition. Think I want to do another with the concept because I originally wanted to make them actually fight.

It would be so cool if they did a game in the style of the Arkham Games but with Doctor Mid-Nite. I think he/they'd fit it really well, since the goggles would really suit detective mode, and Charles is already a bit like Batman (unfortunately I do not have enough comics with him yet)

Some Concept art for my versions of The Riddler and Catwoman. My universe (or as I’ve been calling it since i’m cringe the “Sourverse”) is heavily based on early Noir films and leans a lot into the detective aspect of Batman.

I’ll most likely be delving into both of their storylines soon. (I should probably post my Batman concept before that though 💀)

Basics

Riddler: Edward Nygma (Originally Nashton) grew up in a poor family outside of Gotham. He was often neglected and found comfort in riddles and puzzles. This comfort quickly grew into an obsession of his in which he’d commonly get bullied for. Once he was old enough he didn’t hesitate to move out and began pursuing his undergraduate in Gotham City. His obsession with puzzles quickly grew to involve crimes, viewing them as more intricate puzzles or machines to learn and solve. After graduating he becomes a private detective and when Batman appears he begins to find a rival in him. He tries to find and solve crimes quicker than Batman, and when he fails to do so it is a massive hit to his ego. Before his descent into villainy he would occasionally partner up with Batman to solve crimes, often to the behest of Batman. But after the constant hits to his ego he begins to think Batman is somehow cheating. So he begins to orchestrate crimes, trying to prove that Batman isn’t the greatest detective. This inadvertently causes Edward to become the leader of a criminal organization, creating a hierarchy of criminals and cutting deals so he can create complex crimes and trick Batman.

The Riddler is inspired by Rope(1948)

Catwoman: Selina Kyle is a thief in the east-end of Gotham. When she was younger her father was rather wealthy, owning a company with his best friend and business partner. When her father died the inheritance that was meant for her was stolen by her father’s business partner. She ended up being taken in by a woman in the East-end after she ran away from her foster family. Eventually she was adopted and later on her adoptive mother would fall into a coma due to illness. This is what makes Selina become Catwoman as she is unwilling to become a prostitute after seeing what it has done to others. As Catwoman she steals from Gotham’s wealthy socialites, taking from the rich and giving to the poor in a Robin-hood manner. Her overall goal is to locate her father’s missing business partner and get her inheritance. Often times she’ll keep a large amount of the goods she steals in order to live out the life she believes was robbed from her and support her comatose mother. The wealth she gains from these burglaries allows her to become one of Gotham’s socialites, known for her mysterious new-money fortune and sly personality. Selina’s first impression of Batman isn’t a good one. One of her burglaries is stopped by him and she nearly fails to escape. The interaction makes Selina see Batman as a misguided man with a savior complex.

Catwoman is inspired by The Killers(1946)

Funnily enough turned out it did but since the stories were fairly poorly written with a lot of spelling mistakes, or just not having very pleasant memories tied to them. I decided to purge them myself.

Fun trip through memory lane but some memories deserve to be erased damn. No idea what 15-16 yo me was thinking.

A little late but HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY to the character of all time Duke Thomas!!!!! Over the past year Duke nation has expanded so much and Duke world domination has NEVER been closer. So grateful for the light of Gotham, the hope that burns bright despite it all. As Bruce Wayne once said, Duke represents Gotham's best - so may he have the very best birthday this year (and may DC announce a solo soon!!)

Second pair gave right prim/sec but both wrong terts

Third pair didn't even try
