â â âEhh... Iâm kind of hungry...â She stares over in front of the bakery, her mouth almost drooling. âThose look really delicious...â
âBut I seem to have left my purse at home...â Stares...
â â âAh~ This city is really exciting...!â She could barely contained her excitement, exploring the city all on her own again. Her eyes suddenly caught some strange glowing lights from within one of the shops. What was that? She walked towards that shop, with curiosity brimming in her eyes. The sign in place called it âOwl Finch Arcadeâ.Â
âThis definitely looks really interesting!â And the out-of-era girl, clad in her full kimono, walked into the arcade.
âThe Vernal Ball? What in the world is this poster talking about?â She leans forward to the wall, with curiosity brimming. From what it seemed to her, it looked like a public dance at a hall.
âIt looks very interesting...!â Now she wondered how she was going to rope her brother and Sakichan into this.
rengokuni:
Sakichi was eternally, woefully susceptible, it seemed, to these twoâs pranks. He should have known better than to think, even for a second, that an interaction with them could go without them fooling him, and that fact was more present than ever as he was hit with a sharp spray of cold water, right in the face.Â
Surprised, he made a garbled âhghrhâ and stumbled back a few steps, wiping irritatedly at his eyes. His bangs dripped more moisture onto his skin as he recovered enough to glare at Okuni; taking advantage of the situation to pull one on him like thatâŚ
âKumouâŚ! You alwaysââ He cut off early to give a frustrated sigh, though it quickly gave way to a fleeting private smile. Itâs almost sad that heâd missed the pranks, as aggravating as they were⌠with one more sigh, he changed the subject, letting her off the hook for now. (For now.) âHave you been to your housing yet?â
â â Housing. Oh dear, how could she have forgotten? Up until meeting up with Sakichi again, Okuni had been searching for the new supposed home that was on the letter the sheep gave her. They had also hinted she would be reunited with someone, and she had hoped it was her other half. Though she was slightly disappointed it wasnât her brother, a little part of her was relieved she was with someone she knew.
âNo, not yet. I was looking for that place and Baren. Which by the way, have you seen him yet?â
âThe place the letter told me was Hummingbird Hotel, Room #305.â
rengokuni:
âI can see that for myself now. And donât forget I have fought you once,â he said noncommittally, âthough I doubt you were putting forth full effort back then.â Now that he thought about it, wasnât it always hard to tell if those twins were genuinely trying at something, or if they were just playing? And Sakichi himself was particularly bad at it. All he could do was accept whatever they threw at him⌠like, unfortunately, right now. He raised an eyebrow, somewhat thrown for a loop by her sudden change of topic.
âA giftâŚ?â He approached slowly, somewhat warily, but perhaps the time heâd spent here had already lowered his guardâŚ?
â â âCome closer.â She beckoned him and as expected of the foolish idealist, he obediently came closer (despite showing a wary face). In one fluid motion, she pulled out a water gun hidden in her robes and shot a stream of water directly into the swordsmanâs face. The look on his face was too priceless to behold and Okuni burst out into laughter.
Oh poor, poor Sakichi. What was he expecting from one of the prankster twins of Oumi? He was a such an amusing person to play with, that she had missed this. If only Baren was also here...
âWhen I came to this strange place, they gave me this! Do you like it, Sakichan?â
â...Thereâs only one bed in this housing...â
rengokuni:
This wasnât â thankfully â like his encounter with Baren. Sakichi saw her hopefully before she caught sight of him, rather than falling into one of her traps. Still, he suspected that either way, he would still be the same amount of relieved to see that she was alive and well â hopefully, as well as she could be. How exactly that had led to him watching her from behind a row of bushes he wasnât sure, but the jig was up now.Â
He straightened, dusting leaves from his tunic and plucking one from where it had gotten stuck in his hair. All the while, an expression of somewhat bemused surprise lingered on his face, almost as if he couldnât believe Okuni was standing in front of him.Â
âIt is just a⌠surprise to see you here,â he said much more quietly than his usual brash tone. A moment passed before he took a breath and followed up. âIâm glad to see you were safe, after all.â A rueful smile flitted over his face for just a moment; he should have known better, apparently, than to doubt the Kumous, even for a moment. Having both of them appear before him now was as good a testament as any, to that particular sentiment.
â â âDid Baren not tell you that I am strong, Sakichan? Fufu. It would be best not to underestimate me.â She chuckled softly, amused by his disarrayed appearance. Though she would not express it, somewhere in her heart, she felt a little touched by his concern. He was a foolish idealist, that Sakichi Ishida, but he fought for his ideals honestly with a kind heart.
Which all the more made him just as much of a fun target to wreak mischief on.
âBut since youâve went through all the trouble to search for me, Sakichan, Iâll reward with a little gift.â
starter for @bekkaltin!!
â â âTanuki-chan~ Where did you run off to?â
âOh dear, I canât find Tanuki-chan anywhere... I thought he was with me when I arrived to this strange place...â Okuni sighed softly, looking around for the beloved stray racoon dog that was attached to her. While her expression didnât show it at all, she felt rather upset the stray was missing.Â
It was a big place she had never explored before, so how was she able to find that poor tanuki? That little one was almost family to her and Baren.
âTanuki-chan? Please come out!â
starter for @rengokuniâ!!
â â âFor such a courageous idealist who went at lengths to know about us, where are those courage now, Sakichan?â The young woman waved her fan almost haughtily, her lips curved into a playful smile.
âI can see you perfectly fine from here~ There is no need to observe me in secret.â
