“Really? That’s shocking. Back in school, I had to be called by my last name just to know that they were actually talking to me rather than one of the other Georges in my class. With a last name like Dixon though, I think you can see the dilemma there.” George joked more or less but laughed regardless, taking another drink. He licked his lips to rid the remnants of the alcohol and slid his cup back beneath the bar. “You’re still younger, so I’m guessing you’re native to here?”

“Yeah, really and that story is definitely a shocker in my opinion. You’ve got a cool name, but I can see the possible dilemmas that might start lining up at your front door,” River returned the joke at the end, taking a sip of his water as he listened to George once more. “You’re right on the money again, born and raised here,” he answered.

Finn: hypothetically tomorrow is, what, thursday?
Finn: i could hang. nothing happens much on thursday.
River: You would be correct.
River: Sounds fantastic. Looking forward to this hypothetical hangout.

River: Hey there, got a minute?
River: Hypothetically speaking, if I had an unexpected day off tomorrow, would you be available to hang out?

KB: hi. i had to call in sick today. i think i might have eaten some spoiled food :(
KB: one day i'll learn how to cook
KB: i'm not sure what to do with myself right now though. what do people do when they aren't at work?
River: Yikes, I'm sorry to hear that.
River: However, if you're looking for entertainment on a sick day, I've got a list of movie and TV show recommendations.

“I don’t know if I’d be able to do a job that doesn’t require a little chaos. Quite frankly, I’m definitely not the type that can entertain myself doing the same thing day in and out.” George agreed, pulling out his cup from underneath the bar and taking a sip before slipping it back underneath. After licking his lips to both enjoy and get rid of the taste of the rum, he grinned at the boy and shook his outstretched hand. “River Martin, cool name. Can’t say I’ve met any River’s before. However, I’m George Dixon, nice to meet you.”

“Understandable, you’ve got a little fun where you work every now and then or else things just might take a turn for the worse,” River chuckled lightly after listening to what George was saying and giving the information a few moments to absorb. “Thank you very much and it’s to meet you too. You’re actually the first George I’ve met,” he added.
georgedixon1:
George nodded in understanding at the age remark, smiling warmly. “Who knows if I’ll still be carrying this job by then, but if I am, first drink’s on me to make up for this time. In the meantime, sounds like a nice plan for the night.” He offered, not meaning to pry unless the other wanted to talk. Of all the talents he had acquired since taking on the bar, perhaps it was the ability to naturally coax people into talking that came the most in handy. At the very least, it made his shifts a bit more interesting. “Things are going as they always do, I’d say. It’s still early so I haven’t had to play bouncer just, but I’m certain I’ll have to eventually. Drunk people are lovely people until they’re befriending the toilet bowl.” George explained, laughing a little. “Don’t take it you’ve ever drank even though it’s not legal? I admittedly got a bit of a head start, only 21 now, but I don’t know how strict the upbringing in this area is.”

“Thanks again,” River stated with a smile, nodding along as he paid carefully attention to what the other male had to say. “Sounds like a wild ride around here sometimes, but who doesn’t love a bit of chaos here and there every once in a while? Anyway, I’ve never had a drink once in my entire 19 years of living and I honestly don’t intend on getting a head start. However, if others are doing it, then I won’t judge them,” he added as he held his hand out for a shake. “Don’t think I introduced myself, I’m River Martin.”
georgedixon1:
George raised his eyebrows with an amused smile at the boy’s words, letting out an easy laugh of his own. “Water is indeed free already, but not all cups are created equal. For your nonchalance, I’ll get you the biggest one I have around. Even throw in some ice cubes.” The banter was easy, and he appreciated that as his actions followed his words, filling the decently large beer glass. Grabbing a straw from beneath the counter, George ripped off the bottom portion and slipped it into the cup before sliding it in front of the other male. “There you are, then. I’m assuming you’re a little young to get anything harder than that?” He asked, noting the still youthful features that contrasted those of a lot of the other customers. George couldn’t imagine the boy was much younger than himself, but when he was still only twenty-one, that was a key difference.

“Thank you very much,” River answered with his usual friendly smile, listening to what the other male had to say or ask. As the question hit his ears, the 19 year old gave a nod as he added, “Yeah, I’m only two years away though, so you might see me back here on that birthday. Tonight, I’m just meeting up with an old friend that I haven’t seen in a long time.” Carefully, he took a sip of the water as he inquired, “How about you? Things going well here?”
georgedixon1:
George’s official title was a barista, but he felt like that was just a fancy way to say bartender. Unlike what the first title implies, the last time he cared about foam art was when he accidentally left the tap running a bit too long and had to clean up the beer before it could make the floor sticky. He also couldn’t remember the last time he served a non-alcoholic drink other than water (at his own request rather than the customer’s), but as long as he was getting paid, he couldn’t really complain.
The bell on the door rang, just audible over the hum of other customers sitting and standing around, and George took the time he knew they’d take to reach the bar to straighten up his shirt. It didn’t matter who it was necessarily, but he always got the best tips when it seemed like he had his life together somewhat. George pouted as he noticed stain from some colorful drink he served earlier that tinted the top of his his light skinny jeans, trying to rub it out. It was then he realized that whoever had entered last had now taken residence during in front of him at the bar, and probably had been watching his fruitless pursuit to clean himself up for a short while now. A sheepish chuckle was tugged out of him as he let his shirt go to look up at the person, tilting his head to the side slightly.
“First drink’s on me if you pretend you didn’t just witness that?”
River had reluctantly agreed to meet a friend at a bar that he most likely shouldn’t even be at, taking a seat a few moments after arriving and searching for an empty seat. He gave a kindhearted smile as the other male’s words hit his ears, nodding ever so slightly in agreement. “Witness what? Also, please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that the water is free already,” he answered with a light laugh.

“ why am i in the bathroom? ”
“Honestly, the world may never know why. Why do we ever end up anywhere?”
josephinexeaston:
“Being careful is kind of hard when I seem to always find danger.” She chuckled “But thanks for your concern.”
“Yikes, sorry to hear that danger is easy to find. Anytime, it’s the thought that counts, right?” River replied with a soft smile.
josephinexeaston:
“Sorting through a weeks worth of work in six hours, I say I earned one of these.”
“Definitely sounds like a whole lot of work. I can definitely agree with you on that note, but be careful, alright?”

River’s familiar smile tugged at Brady’s heart immediately. He had missed his brother so much, why did he wait so long to contact him? ‘That was stupid,’ Brady thought before making a promise to himself to talk to River more often. With a huge smile, Brady easily accepted his younger brother’s apology. “It’s alright, I’ve been pretty bad myself.” He adjusted his cap a little then shook his head, “You’d think we’d make time to hang out more now that we’re both in San Myshuno but I guess life’s gotten pretty hectic for the two of us. How’re things with you?”
“Well, we’ve got a chance for a new start at staying in contact. It’s all good, Brady, what matters most is that we’re spending time together in the here and now,” River encouraged in an energy filled tone. “Things are going pretty well for little, ol’ me. Work’s kept me busy though, had to direct a trio of field agents on a two day long mission in order to gather intelligence. The less said about the weird stuff that happened, the better.”
jack-wagner:
And I’m perfectly fine with that, don’t worry! There’s just, I just, have so many questions! Like is it really like in Sims Forever? You guys dress up in all black and run into buildings and everything?
Thank you very much, although that may have been a slight over-reaction on my part. Anyway, I’m happy to answer your questions and as for the first one, it’s kind of like that, but only field agents as well as the higher ups get to do that. Desk jockeys like me are in charge of making sure that things go smoothly for them.
shutupbrady:
Being a workaholic was taxing on your social life. Brady certainly knew that and now River was learning it too. The one upside to both of them working so hard was that neither had too much time to miss the other. Was that even really an upside? Regardless, when Brady did slow down a bit he found himself missing his tight knit little family. He definitely needed to call more and he really had no excuse not to talk to River often now that they lived in the same city again. Thankfully, today River had reached out and they managed to meet up. Brady hid his bedhead under a cap and pulled on clothes he had grabbed off the floor and hoped were clean before heading to the coffee shop. A smile spread across his face once he spotted his younger brother, “River, hey!” Brady called as he walked up then opened his arms for a hug.
River glanced up from his phone, standing up all the while when a voice that he’d recognize even in a crowd of a thousand Sims hit his ears, smiling brightly at Brady. “Hey big brother,” he greeted as he accepted the hug, memories flooding his mind all the while. Of childhood games and time spent together as a family, memories that River hoped his own children would have someday. Coming back to the matter at hand, he apologized, “Sorry about being a major flop at staying in touch.”
jack-wagner:
You’re in the Secret Agent career? Dude, that sounds totally awesome! It’s like when I put on the SimLife goggles and I can play those games. Brady might kill me, but you should come into work sometimes to proof some things, make sure we’re being correct with everything!
Yeah and I’m glad you think it’s cool. As long as you can help me hide from potentially angry game developers and older brothers, I’m definitely in on this. I do have to warn you up front though, there are some things that I just can’t reveal.
jack-wagner:
So what’s your job now? Fun and exciting? I don’t think it gets more fun that just playing video games and fuckin’ around.
I’m an Agent Handler right now and it definitely is fun with some stress added in. Being a Tech Guru sounds really cool too, in my opinion.
