âAh.â Itâs comes out soft, and Wren pauses, pressing their lips together as they process that little fact offered to them by Brady. It would make sense, his behaviour, if he were emotionally compromised from that encounter. Unfortunately, that sort of thing isnât exactly in their realm of expertise. They can only try to consider it from a logical, third-party point of view rather than pulling from any sort of personal experience. Theyâve never even been romantically involved with anyone before, let alone gone through a break-up and subsequently an awkward coffeeâŚdate? Was it a date? Theyâll probably need to hear more about it to help.
Wren draws their hands away from the crystals, hazel eyes flickering about as they consider their friendâs proposition. Usually they make the tea. They only entirely trust one other person to do it, and sadly that person is not Brady. Still, they canât see any harm in letting him lend a hand, so they offer him a small, closed-lipped smile as they get to their feet. They arenât very tall, their height decidedly not intimidating, and when they turn to peer into the little kitchenette theyâve got near the back of their shop, they only hesitate because they want to make sure heâs on board. âNo, no, itâs okay â I like the company. Follow me?â They gesture in the direction theyâre going, and then lead the way.
Their voice raises a bit when they next speak, just to verify that it carries. âDo you want to talk about it? The thing with your ex, I mean. Iâm not exactly a relationship guru, but Iâm a good listener.â The offer is quite genuine, and at this point, itâs probably no secret to him that Wren doesnât mind being a sounding board for anything and everything anyone needs to say. As a matter of fact, they usually quite enjoy it, especially if they can be helpful. When they make it to their destination, theyâre immediately going for the kettle, checking to see that thereâs enough water in before turning it on.
Wrenâs reaction was one to be expected. Talking about exes was never really comfortable for anyone, even friends. Brady wasnât completely sure the feeling was mutual, but by now he considered Wren a friend. They spent a fair amount of time together and Brady had come to care about how they were doing and what they were doing. Whether that was brewing herbal teas, crafting, or decorating, Bradyâs interest in the activities stemmed from his interest in and friendship with Wren. That was how the two ended up here, Wren attempting to teach him about crystals.
Unfortunately for them, Brady wasnât quite in the right state of mind to learn much today. Thankfully though, they were one of the most understanding people Brady knew so they didnât seem to mind him derailing their plans. When Wren stood up Brady was reminded of how small they were, something that was a lot less obvious when they were both tucked away behind a table. When sitting, Wren looked like they were nearly as tall as Brady but as soon as Brady stood to his full height of 6â˛2 the discrepancy was clear. Wrenâs name is quite fitting, Brady thought to himself as he looked down at the smaller sim. Wren certainly was small, soft, and round, just like the bird, and all of those factors resulted in a very cute sim. When invited to follow them, Brady simply nodded then obediently trailed after Wren, thankful that they were making time for him even though he had been so rude earlier.
As they walked, Brady had to decide whether to talk about his situation or to spare Wren and move on to another topic. While Brady knew it would probably be a lot more comfortable to just move on, he also knew Wren was a great listener which was a trait not exactly common in his friend group. âUm, we can? If it doesnât bother you.â Brady said before finding a quiet spot in the small kitchenette to stand, hopefully out of Wrenâs way. âItâs not too dramatic... I just donât really know what to do.â Brady sighed and ran a hand through his hair. âShe wants to be friends and Iâm not really sure if thatâll work... or be a good idea.. but I donât want to upset her by saying no.â After a moment of silence where Brady was deep in thought, his attention snapped back to his friend and the task at hand. Making tea. Stepping forward, Brady put on a small smile. âOkay so... how do I help?âÂ
