"I met the Kinks at the TV program Top of the Pops. I think "Waterloo Sunset" was their latest single at the time. When I arrived, they were just finishing off a session with Harry Hammond, who was a well-known British show business photographer, and he had set up a shiny green background, which I kept in my photographs.

I loved their music and their Mod look, which was so Sixties' British. I had expected them to be all sweetness and light, but they were actually quite cheeky. They were very much London lads."
