Drive In
Is that really her name?
A fabulous name
A pang to the heart and all those body parts
I melt and convulse
I think her name the greatest.
Was it?
I did for a while
at least think all that hype.
My heart leaped and transcended for her.
Easy to do when you’ve got a lover’s act of service before you.
Our happy lifetime was that lockdown.
We lived, laughed, fed each other our souls and visions, made out and made love ...
It never once felt like winter with her.
But we did not last
5 months of love and sex in tunnel vision
In a pandemic dream
A hope so confined until our world opened up again
The settled comfortable place in our hearts yearned for the outside world
We didn’t fit outside
The flow that had flowed
no longer nourished us
The gap had been filled
She fluttered away back to the life she had tried to begin before
Promises calling her
Better ones in her mind
Dirty gay
She just couldn’t put her finger on it
Sighs all round
I’m not in love
Thanks for letting me know
We had a momentary frequency
Once we left the drive in
it was over
fast romance
Now I understand her name.
Got to love Shakespeare.
Over and out.
