How it ends
3. Our muses believed my muse was immune to the virus until they begin to turn/die.
Having been bitten three days ago, no sign of infection to be seen, Benjamin dismissed it. Of course they had wrapped and cleaned it, though⊠Having bandages over a good length of his arm did obscure the sickly color it was slowly turning.Â
âIts not supposed to be hot right? Cause Im Totally hot right now.â He raised a hand to his forehead to see if he had a fever
Anna rolled her eyes and grinned as she finished setting up their mobile camp, which was basically a couple of sleeping bags, a lamp with solar batteries for night reading, and the few dishes and cookware that they could afford to carry in their backpacks without wasting valuable space.
âVery funny, Hot Stuff,â she replied. Ben was known for cracking jokes even at the most inappropriate times. It made life a little less serious and miserable. âWell, itâs been pretty sunny today. Maybe you just got over-exposed to the sun. We still have some water left, so maybe you should get it into you and lay down in the shade.â
She needed to gather materials for a modest bonfire. With autumn setting in and winter on the way, they needed to keep warm or else risk weakening their immune systems. She heard a rumour that the so-called Corprus disease could be spread through the air and water supply and NOT just from exposure to carriers. She hoped thatâs all it was, just a baseless rumour, but there was no point in taking any chances.
He clicked his tongue and laughed. She was right. He was just being paranoid.
"Yeah. Thats a good idea." He pulled away from the makeshift lookout position he was in. No one in sight; good. Just how he liked it.
"are you sure you dont need any help?" He took a seat beside their empty fire pit, wiping the sweat from his face. Ben knew Anna was more than capable, but he didnt want her to do all the work herself
