I want to reach for God the way I reach for my phone. When I’m bored, when I’m uncomfortable, when I need answers or entertainment, when I’m lonely and need someone to talk to.

I love this.

I can relate to this
I do not want to be beautiful. I want to be contagious and radiant. I want to leave a mark on not only on the world but on souls. I want to have something to offer; something more than the superficial idea that my beauty is all that I have to give.
I have so much more. (via awfully-fond)
I asked God “why do you still love me, why after all the things I’ve done you still want my heart?” He answered me “I made you for me. And as long as you let me, I will save you from yourself.

Joy far outweighs the hurt.

On my best days I’m a 5-7am workout. I’m a protein shake for breakfast and a styled head of hair out the door on time for work. On my best days I am patient and graceful and loving when with the baby I nanny. I am sliced turkey and carrots for lunch. I am bubbling over with joy and overflowing with confidence. On my best days I am kind and welcoming to those dear to me and those far from me. I am a washed and toned face before bed with my workout clothes picked out for the next morning.
On my worst days I am a ragged bed head continually hitting snooze while convincing myself it’s okay to skip the gym today. I’m a bowl of lucky charms for breakfast and a burrito bowl for lunch. I am a head thrown back and an anguished sigh of frustration when I can’t calm the cries of the baby I nanny. On my worst days I left Netflix be the entertainer while I am a detached and numbed nanny. I am an afternoon ice cream cone because it’s been a hard day. On my worst days I’m a dirty body climbing into bed and scrolling mindlessly through social media instead of spending time with Jesus.
Most weeks the worst me is present more than the best me. But the thing I forget so easily is that Jesus loves me the best on the worst days and loves me the best on the best days. His love doesn’t depend on my mood - thank the good Lord for that - and it doesn’t depend on my attitude. His grace and mercy is there each new day - even if it’s not my best day. And every day I’m thankful for that

How do you feel about people watching secular movies and cartoons and looking for biblical messages in them?
Well, you’re talking to a person who LOVES it.
You can find my posts on connecting God to Star Wars Episodes 1-6 here
I also did a series on Harry Potter Here, in a response to some one who had a question about that book/movie series.
I also have a post which I pull references from The Santa Clause and another where I talk about some biblical points in the Avengers (which you can find here and here respectively).
Now that I’ve done my shameless plugging, let me explain. I think the story of God and His love for us is too big to be contained. I think the human race, since we are made in His image, are constantly pulling from His creation. Look at Superman. A supreme being sends His god-like son to a planet of powerless beings. He becomes their redeemer and sacrifices himself for them. That story ring any bells (cough, cough: Jesus). There are countless stories in books, TV, and cinema that echo stories from the Bible or can be used as allegories for faith, and in a media based culture, these can be used to instruct people.
Yes, not all that is out there is good. I wouldn’t tell you to go read Fifty Shades of Grey and look for Biblical themes or watch the latest R-rated sex/horror/whatever movie, but we can still be “in the world” without being “of the world”.
This thing is so random _( simple sketch aha ha ha
I like to draw small things
“You don’t choose your family. They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.”
"I love seeing you happy."
