  From the McHenry County Police: McHenry County Sheriff advises you to AVOID S Solon Rd due to a current traffic issue. A vehicle crash near S Solon Rd has closed S Solon Rd between Ringwood Rd and Miller Rd and will require a detour of traffic for the next several hours.  Rockford Scanner fans have said there is two people who passed away and several others injured.

  On Friday September 2, 2016 Rockford Police Officers met with a 41 year old male at a local hospital who stated he was the victim of an armed robbery which occurred in the area of N Johnston Ave and Arthur Ave around 4:00am.  As the victim was walking in this area, he was approached by 3 black males who demanded his money.   A struggled ensued between the victim and the suspects.  During this struggle, one of the suspect pulled out a knife and subsequently cut the victim on his arm.   The suspects were able to get USC from the victim before fleeing the area on foot.   The victim was treated for a minor laceration to his arm.   The suspects were all described as 18 year old black males ranging from 5’06 to 5’10” tall and 140 to 160lbs.

  Around 8 am this morning several emergency personnel and the medical helicopter were requested at a rollover accident on I-90 and I-39 exchange in the eastbound lanes. Near mile marker 18. They have requested multiple ambulances to the scene and also extrication was being requested. Still developing. Avoid the area or expect delays

  Just after 8 pm tonight several emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Poplar Grove Rd, just south of Squaw Prairie.  there is an auto accident near this location. A tow truck was involved in the accident. one of the vehicles was reported to be on fire. Extrication was being requested. Injuries were being reported.  Sounded like it might be pretty serious via scanner traffic.   Several people have contacted us and said multiple officers are on 15th ave and 5th street. 

Direct orders from Chief O Shea, to not provide any information to Rockford Scanner. So the police are not talking to Rockford Scanner. 

Rockford Scanner fan: “The neighbors are saying that the police grabbed a man out of a car and had him pinned down by his throat with their knees and the man was gasping and gasping for breath and that the ambulance came and took them to the neighbors are saying the police killed this man.”

    just before 6 pm tonight emergency personnel were on scene of an accident that happened in the area of Harrison and S Mall Dr in cherry valley. Unknown on injuries at the time of posting this. As we are typing this, they just said over the scanner to send an ambulance, so injuries are now being reported. Around 5:45 pm tonight approx. 56 customers were without power on Minns drive in Machesney park. They have crews investigating the cause. At the time of writing this, the estimated restore time was around 7 pm.

  Around 12:30 pm today emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of the 3500 block of Carlson in Boone County. Scanner traffic is saying there was a large amount of smoke in the area. When the fire department arrived on scene they confirmed a structure was on fire, and it had collapsed and is all on the ground. From the Roscoe PD: On Friday 08-26-16 at around 4:00pm a Green four door car (unknown make and model) was seen in the 300 block of Mosaic Lane taking photographs of residents in their yards. The driver was described as a white female in her forties or fifties. Any information regarding this suspicious vehicle please contact the Roscoe Police Department at [phone].

    Around 9:50 am this morning several emergency personnel were dispatched to the 7400 block of Randy rd. Scanner traffic is saying there is a possible person that has passed away near this location. The caller is a teen, they found their mother who may have passed away. UPDATE: Emergency personnel arrived on scene and confirmed she passed away. The cause of the death is under investigation. Still developing

No notice, no flags on it and they are already out there pulling people over this morning!!! From the RPD: On 09-01-16, at 6:35 PM, the Rockford Police Department responded to a residence in the 300 block of Hilton Avenue for a suicidal subject barricaded in the basement. Upon arrival officers and detectives established dialogue with subject who was threatening suicide by way of a knife. After several hours of negotiations the subject surrendered without incident. The subject was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Since the subject posed no threat to the community or police he was not charged criminally in the matter and their name will not be released.   Around 11:45 am this morning the Beloit Fire Department has activated a MABAS for a technical rescue. We didnt hear the exact location, but they said 1202 (Street name couldn’t make out) but they did say “court” they only said that it is for a technical rescue and did not get into details. Unknown if it is related to the 79 year old male that went missing recently (Big Hill Park area, but located) . Still developing, we will post updates if they become available
