Today's guest blogger is Taylor Dunlap, a senior at Klein Oak High School. She speaks of something that can ruin us if we don't release it...unforgiveness.
"For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:14-15
This year I have been hurt by several friends in different situations. Between someone commenting on my weight, another lying to me, and then another friend just not caring about my feelings at all,  it took me off guard. I have never really had conflict with anyone before this year so I didn’t know how to react. At first I was bitter and prideful. I didn’t go to The Lord with my problems. I thought I could handle it on my own. Nothing seemed to make it better so finally I surrendered to God and just told Him I need help. I told him that I couldn’t handle this on my own and I need You to heal the wounds. I soon realized in order to move on, I needed to fully forgive them. I needed to show them the grace that God shows to us. And ultimately, that is what healed me and the friendships were able to be saved.Â
The Bible says in Matthew 5:38-48 to love your enemies and let them bring out the best in you. And when someone does something to you to take it and not react. For The Lord will notice and reward you. I challenge you to show your enemies God’s unfailing love.Â
