“Be as much of a perfectionist as your little heart desires…” Dom chuckled reaching back to pat his shoulder. He then turned back to order himself another drink. “Two more shots and a beer please…” The bartender sighed hesitantly but did as Dom had asked. Dominic let out almost a dramatic sigh. “No… it is uh… you see… I retired from boxing and came home. My dad died. It was all… all just a mess…” He murmured, stumbling over his words.
“I’m sorry to hear that, mate. I didn’t know.” Well, any chances of him drinking that were just washed away after that comment. As for Dom he seemed to be just starting. Rod felt glad that the bartender didn’t say anything on his surprised face as his drinking buddy ordered for enough alcohol for the rest of the night. “Death does change our lives a lot. I know a thing or two about that, too.”
