Love, Redefined

On June 20th Jupiter entered Leo for a 12-month tour of the sign of our heart and inner child. Jupiter always tries to "upgrade" your heart before it enters the sometimes harsh reality of Virgo.

But this Jupiter upgrade is including the outer planets of Uranus, Neptune (rx) and Pluto (rx); outer planets that are doing a spectacular cosmic dance, all of them at 4°.

Today Jupiter does more than join the dance, it "redefines" it as it chooses each planet as a separate and distinct dance partner. Jupiter sextiles Uranus, trines Neptune (rx), and opposes Pluto (rx).

I encourage you to see this dance as the opportunity to redefine "love." That's because many of you are feeling that love is impossible during these times. That people can't or won't receive it, or that many don't even deserve it.

But you're also discovering that love doesn't require you to hurt, be badgered, feel "less than," or to be disrespected and disvalued.

This week take advantage of the opportunity to redefine love. Not from the perspective that love is impossible, or that your opportunities to experience its fullness are diminishing, but that your love is GROWING. It isn't limited only to spouse, family and only the closest people in your life. But that you can extend love to the grocery store clerk, the commenter on your social media post, or the traveler in the seat next to you.

Love does not limit you, and when you see the value in that statement, you will not allow others to let love limit you, either.

Belonging Ain't What It Used To Be

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I think there is an attempt by the "powers that be" to create a sense of "belonging" in the world. Not because they care, or understand that belonging is a basic human need. But because you are starting to see how they are systematically "gutting" the things that give you the greatest sense of belonging.

You're being cajoled into finding your belonging with something "bigger" than you; some institution, idea or situation, and with others who are also looking for belonging.

Except ... there's something fake and false about those institutions, ideas and situations. And the people in them feel hollow and vacant.

Today there is a sextile between Uranus in Gemini and Neptune (rx) in Aries at 4°, tapping into the massive outer planet lineup at 4°.

This outer planet party at 4°, and especially this sextile, kicks off a period of time where you are re-evaluating what it means to "belong" to something.

These outer planets at 4° is the invitation to throw off the shackles of the fake, false, hollow and void, and to move into something more real, genuine and uniquely human. Because belonging is not only a human need, it's what builds families, communities and ideas.

I invite you to break out of their "cage," and trust there are others out there looking for the same level of belonging as you are.

Your Experience - Your Narrative

Recently I heard a conversation between an old woman and a new Mother who was telling of some of the joys of being a first time mom. The old woman simply said, "well women been having kids for thousands of years now; that ain't nothing special you did."

Granted, I don't know the relationship between the two women, or what was said before/after I heard the exchange. But you could see the disappointment in the new Mother's eyes. And it got me to thinking how people just love to tell you what an experience in life means for you.

What a perfect story as the analogy for today's New Moon at 21° Cancer at 5:43am ET. This isn't just a New Moon in Cancer, the sign that rules the Moon. But the Moon is coming out of an out of bounds period, and goes void of course after the Sun/Moon conjunction (a new moon.)

Because the Moon is out of bounds, and immediately goes into void of course, I see this Moon acting more erratically, and not from the care, compassion, and emotional safety perspective you expect from Cancer.

This is a New Moon where others will feel justified in telling you how to interpret your life experiences. Nothing is off the table, from the grief you've lived to the joys you've experienced. There's someone there to tell you what you "really" experienced.

And while we all can blow an experience out of proportion, misinterpret it because of lack of information or context, or just be in out and out illusion about it, it can be demoralizing when others try to shape the narrative for you.

This week don't let people take away your power to determine the meaning and perspective your life experiences offer you. Because the nasty truth is that many people enjoy "vomiting" on your joy, and benefit when you are sad and lack connection.

Love To Move Mountains

Monday - July 13, 2026

Belief is a curious thing; it is something to open to, and to be cautious about at the same time. That's because a belief is something that can control you or set you free.

The belief in LOVE is a bit like that. Believe in love through the lens of skepticism and doubt, and that's what you will get. But is it really true that "love can move mountains."

Honestly, I don't know. But I do know that love is powerful, when it is devoid of ego, control, and attached to an outcome. In that pure state it is often the only thing that can bring hope into situations that in its absence are doomed to be hopeless.

The invitation from the skies today is to find love where you can today, and to believe in its power. I don't mean you're obligated to go save someone from themselves, or thing that love by itself is a "magic wand."

I encourage you to give love for yourself. The alternative is to carry around frustration, anger and certain hopelessness.

I don't know if love can move mountains. But I think those very mountains were created by the very epitome of love, God Universe. And it seems like when love meets love that anything can happen.

No Going Back

I think the quote on today's graphic sums up today's energies. "Whatever you do, never run back to what broke you," courtesy of author and artist Frank Ocean.

The astrology right now is doing a lot of "sorting out" of things, giving you a clearer picture of what needs to stay in your world and what has to go. Much of this is being fueled by the 4° dance going on between Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries, and Pluto in Aquarius. It is showing you that much of what is around you doesn't belong, and it's time to take steps to remove it.

And that begins by putting energetic (and in some cases literal) distance between you and it. And that begins with refusing to go "there."

Refuse to run back to an ego that used to lose control, whether that is yours or someone else's.

Refuse to run back to situations that are manipulative, whether you were the manipulator or being manipulated.

Refuse to run back to cruel, hateful conversation, whether that came out of your mouth or someone else's.

Refuse to revisit fears of lack, or ideas of poverty, whether you created it or someone else "dumped" it on you.

Refuse to be listen to the old noises and distractions, even if they were your noises trying to counter someone else's distractions.

And lastly, refuse to go back to tolerating disrespect and lack of consideration, whether you did that to yourself or others.

Today, the cosmos is clear in its message; there is NO going back.

Where Is The ME In The WE?

At 6:54am ET Neptune in Aries begins its annual retrograde period. It will retrograde from 4° to 1°, and go direct on December 12th.

This Neptune retrograde focuses on seeing exactly how "fake" much of the society around you really is. People not being what they seem, companies saying one thing and doing another, organizations doing questionable things, and all of them using care and compassion as a form of power.

So the big question you will have to ask yourself is where do YOU fit into all of this?

There is a lot happening at the time this retrograde occurs, and much of it to do with planets at Venus ruled degrees. Venus is the planetary octave of Neptune, so these two energies work together. Along with other alignments present in the retrograde chart, the foundation is creates is one of seeing society and its games, and wondering why you are still thinking you belong in all of it.

Seeing society for what it is can be a very sobering occasion. The key is to not let that realization rob you of your dreams or your identity. And it will certainly force you to reevaluate where the ME in you fits with the WE of the world.

Can You See The Bigger Picture?

Monday - July 6, 2026

Later tonight (8:11pm ET) Uranus moves to 4° Gemini. When it does it joins the other outer planets of Neptune in Aries and Pluto (rx) in Aquarius at the 4° mark. The last time the outer planets were all at 4° was in April 1222.

This configuration at 4° will stay intact until July 31st. Jupiter will join this 4° parade on July 18th, and stay for a few days.

This begins the process of you "breaking away" from a big picture that you intellectually know is there, and that you can feel is sucking the life out of you. It could be your job, a marriage, a partnership or relationship, a group your part of, or an idea or a belief.

You will start to see where you have been sucked into this place where a part of your identity is so intertwined with others that you don't know where they start and you end.

And I offer up that for many of you it will be shocking how much of yourself you have lost, and how much time you have spent in the pursuit of "fitting in."

That's NOT Your Hot Potato!

Today is the much ballyhooed Mars/Uranus conjunction at 3° Gemini. And I don't mean to minimize its importance. Yes, be careful with physical energy, and more specifically, how you run your mouth. Don't let your mouth write a check your ass can't cash, as the old saying goes.

But I want to talk about today's transits from the broader observation of the outer planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto all at 4°, which happens next week (till July 31st), joined by Jupiter at 4° Leo on July 18th.

This is a period of time where you will truly see people's emotional reactions, and decide if you want that in your world. For example, you may be dating an individual and discover how childish and immature his/her reactions are to situations. You may discover your boss is emotionally uncaring, bordering on cruel. Or see that someone is giddy and gleeful over a difficult situation you're in, as they profess their care and empathy.

But more than anything, you will see where many individuals did not use the opportunity, given to them since 2012, to put their egos and emotions in more life-affirming positions. They will be dealing with a whole host of emotions they don't want to deal with, and they will be happy to toss them on to you.

These are not yours to accept. For if you do, you rob them of the opportunity (and yes, also the struggle) of confronting them and transforming them.

However, you are not off the hook. Your invitation with this astrology is to also move into a higher form of compassion and care. Be there ready to help, but don't do the work for them. Say prayers, send energies of love and compassion. Be available should they need to vent or do some "sacred bitching." Keep rooting for them, even if you're having to create some distance between you. And refuse any ego need to say "I told you so," or "you're getting what you deserve."

But don't take those hot potatoes, much in the way others eventually refused to take yours. Because when we have to contend with them in such a personal fashion, is when the block to healing is shattered.

You Have Seen This Before

I remember how liberating it was when I "dismissed" from consideration one of the political parties here in the US. When they had the power to make the changes they said was part of their platform, they never did. There was always some excuse.

I recall the day I "let go" of the dismay I was carrying because a student I had invested a lot of time and energy into suddenly unfriended me on social media, without any explanation. Of course, why was I surprised, she typically pulled emotional "stunts" like that.

There is a fine line between giving people a chance, and then continuing to give them access to your value and letting them abuse that value.

At 63-years old I see the efficacy of "one strike and your out," versus the "three strikes and your out" mantra I used to have. And while I realize that may sound harsh, when you get to be my age you'll understand it too.

Today's 13-hour Aquarius Void of Course Moon is a perfect opportunity to see where others may be trying to play you for a fool. This void of course period starts when the Moon goes 23° Aquarius, at 1:27pm ET, and ends when the Moon moves into Pisces at 2:30am ET Saturday.

We are in a period of astrology where people are to try to "pull the wool over your eyes," "bamboozle" you, "take you for a ride," or "pull a fast one over you." You get were I'm going.

You know these folks, because they've showed you this part of who they are before. And as the old adage goes, when someone shows you who they are believe them.

Pruning

Thursday - July 2, 2026

When the asteroid Ceres moved into Gemini on May 28th it did so with the Moon at 11° Scorpio, as it was in trine to Venus at 11° Cancer, and in a quincunx with Saturn at 11° Aries.

11° is a Chiron/Virgo ruled degree that seeks integrity as something is in the final stages of "becoming" something else. A good example is a tree that has a dead branch but is otherwise healthy. The dead branch will eventually impede the tree from it reaching its full integrity, so the pruning shears must be used.

Ceres moving into Gemini with this much focus on integrity sets the tone for its three-month tour of the sign, and specifically on the necessity of mental and intellectual pruning.

Ceres reveals how you handle vacuum/void space in your life, areas that are empty, not-filled. It is a place where you decide to endure temporary pain in order to have more permanent happiness. Ceres reminds you that the greatest show of "love" is the love you show yourself to not only make the first pruning cut, but to endure, survive and thrive.

In today's sextile with Saturn it is an opportunity to prune away those individuals or situations in which there is no mental/intellectual integrity. This includes situations where there is no logic or the proverbial "rhyme or reason." And it especially includes looking at those around you who are intellectually lazy, shallow thinkers, or one who insist on staying ignorant and unreasoned.

Today, and the rest of the week, I think you will see where these individuals and situations are "dead weight," and not a part of your future growth plans.

Let the pruning begin.

What You Reject

I have learned the power of saying NO. And I offer up that today that NO is more powerful than you realize.

Later in the day (at least in the US) the Moon moves into Aquarius, and the square between Jupiter now in Leo and Chiron in Taurus is exact.

There is nothing more exacting than NO. There's a popular saying that "NO is a complete sentence," and the truth of that statement still fascinates me.

This square between Jupiter and Chiron at 0° lasts thru July 4th, and it is an invitation to look for reasons to say NO. I have a handy list for you, just in case you need it:

• NO to things you do not, and cannot, believe in • NO to people who enjoy reminding you of past failures instead of current successes • NO to situations that keep you small, hidden, diminished or less-than • NO to ideas that, at your core, you vehemently see as life-negating, despite what is "politically correct" or deemed "socially acceptable" • NO people who hurt you. No. No. No. • NO to circumstances in which you have responsibility but no authority • NO to things that are just downright mean and heartless • NO to people, places and situations that refuse to see YOU, wanting to just make you "another brick in the wall"

And lastly ... because I have to say it: • NO to dumbasses, bullies, brown-nosers, "Karens/Kens," and those who enjoy stirring the pot. Just NO.

And I would enjoy hearing in the comments other places where YOU are saying NO that I did not include in my list.

Unconditional Love ≠ Unconditional Tolerance

At 1:52am ET Jupiter will enter Leo where it will be until July 26, 2027. This year Jupiter enters the sign of heart, inner child and deeply held dreams during some chaotic astrology, a rather serious 11° Capricorn Moon that is also out of bounds, a 1° Mars in Gemini, and a 19° Venus in Leo.

I feel the underlying theme or energy of this Jupiter in Leo transit is best said as "unconditional love does not equal unconditional tolerance." I think we know that internally, but have allowed emotional manipulation to twist love into something it is not.

You've heard someone say to you, "if you loved me you would." Or how about "I'm only doing this because I love you." And then the classic, "after all I've done for you, and you go and do this." These lines typically come after someone has created a situation you responded to, and blames you for responding to the situation.

Again, THEY created the situation and then want to blame YOU for the response. Classic manipulation.

And I think the Jupiter in Leo transit is going to show where that is happening in people, institutions and ideas that we have trusted and believed in. And it's going to sting.

But all of this is to remind you that REAL love, appreciation and respect doesn't do this, and sees your value and worth. And when you see value in something, and understand its worth, you treat it accordingly.

And this Jupiter in Leo transit will show you two things: that there are those who are UNABLE to give you this value and worth for various reasons, and those who are UNWILLING to give it to you.

Either way, love never asks you to give up, diminish, hide or reject your value. Never.

Emotional Manipulation

Monday - June 29, 2026

Emotional manipulation occurs when someone is trying to influence your feelings to serve their own purposes. And while that is often done innocently (relatively speaking) or out of self-ignorance, much of the time it is purposeful and deliberate.

Look at everything going on today involving the Moon's energy: • Mercury is in Cancer, the sign that rules the Moon, and goes retrograde at 1:35pm ET, and will go direct July 23rd. • There is a Full Moon at 8° Capricorn at 7:56pm ET which can have people markedly emotional. • The Nodes move to 0° Pisces/Virgo. The Nodes are a mathematical calculation that involves the Moon. (Also, Pisces is a water sign, the 0° is a Scorpio ruled degree, another water sign; both are triggering the other water sign of Cancer) • The Moon is experiencing an Out-of-Bounds period, in which many individuals use their emotional energies to the extremes, and that includes both the life-affirming and life-negating aspects of the Moon and the sign it is in.

All of that to say this:

This is a time that requires you to be very aware of YOUR emotional state of awareness so you are not subject to the manipulations of THEIR emotional state of awareness.

This is when people will use every emotion out there to manipulate, coerce or control. Add on top of it that the ever growing 4° outer planet alignments, and things are just a bit on edge for some people.

If you're reading this post, I offer up you are self-aware enough to avoid this mess. Stay in your lane, keep your head on a swivel, stay calm and carry on.

I Call Bullsh*t

Sunday kicks off a week that, in reality, is kicking off how much of the world will choose to experience the much ballyhooed alignment of the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune and Pluto) all at 4°.

That means a lot of frustration, indignant people, and realizing how much they have been led astray and fed false narratives. Narratives that have shaped culture and idea. Narratives that are false and are downright lies.

But not everyone will experience that. Many have been waiting for this moment to anchor in a degree of self-realization and personal freedom. How they will enter this period - and how I hope you will too - is by using your bullsh*t detector.

And it starts by using today's transits.

Before Mars enters Gemini at 3:29pm ET it has a potent sextile with Jupiter in Cancer at 29°. Both of these planets are trying up loose ends regarding resources and emotional safety. 29° will ask you to consider how both of those are unfolding in your life.

Starting at 1:04am ET the Moon at 17° Sagittarius goes void of course for 26 hours. But this isn't just any Moon but one that is Out of Bounds. This combination makes emotions sporadic and unpredictable.

Mars enters Gemini under a void of course AND out of bounds Moon. The most positive use of this Mars while in Gemini is to trust your inner bullsh*t detector, and act on what it reveals to you.

Because believe me ... the bullsh*t we are going to see in the people around us, the people who lead us, and the people we look up to, is going to be deep.

Not Going There

Friday - June 26, 2026

I spent some time working as a writer in the newspaper and TV news industries. I saw first hand the manipulation of information for the purpose of generating emotion. Headlines, photos and camera angles were steered to create an emotional reaction.

That was in the late 1990s and nothing has changed; if anything it has gotten worse. In the last 15 years, with the rise of podcasts, non-network news reporting, and social media posting, we're starting to see thru the manipulation.

Now something else is seeking to get your emotional reaction: AI.

The concerns about how AI can be used to manipulate information are well-founded, and the last 15 years of astrological transits support that.

Today's transits encourage you to take more personal responsibility for the information you consume and how you interact with it. So called "AI slop" is not merely visually "sloppy," but content sloppy as well. Erroneous information, wild conjecture, and AI models that seek to keep you from information it deems too volatile or sensitive, is just some of the data manipulation out there in AI slop.

Use discretion in the information you view before you act on it, send it to others, or rely on it. This comes from Saturn's move to 14°, a Mercury/Gemini ruled degree that asks for intellectual discernment. On July 13th Saturn will retrograde at this degree, so it will be there for several weeks.

The old adage of "don't believe everything you see" is more important now than ever. Don't believe it just because it conforms to your personal opinion. Double-check sources, and ascertain if there are financial motives that outweigh intellectual integrity.

But most importantly, don't let this AI slop "get into your head." Don't let it replace your intellectual skills. Because then it will YOU who will be slop, and the only thing you will have to show for it will be mush for brains.

Emotional Safety

I am extremely careful who I share my deepest emotions with. Most people don't understand the emotional state of awareness, don't understand its power when used correctly. Many allow themselves to fall "victim" to their emotions. I hear things like, "I'm an Aries Moon, I can't help but say what I think," or "My Capricorn Moon is incapable of caring."

While your Moon placement tells me your emotional default place, and where you feel most comfortable emotionally, it is not an emotional experience you are "stuck" with. And the sooner you move out of that emotional "comfort zone" of your Moon sign, the better.

Today the transits (listed on the graphic) invite you to redefine "emotional safety," and instead think "emotional discretion."

First, be mindful of who you share emotions and emotional perspective with. Not everyone is emotionally mature, and will use your emotions in life-negating ways. And be appropriate with your emotions; the neighbor you just met five minutes ago doesn't need to know your deepest emotional fears.

Second, divvy up how you share your emotions. Some are appropriate for co-workers and best left at the office rather than bringing them home. Others should be reserved for the most innermost of trusted friends.

Third, stretch beyond your Moon sign. Yes, your Moon sign is a starting place, but it not indicative of the full range of emotional depth available to you, or that you are capable of.

And lastly, there are emotions that are best shared with God Universe. I experience deep frustrations that it would do more to hurt than help if I shared them with those around me. Those are best to commune with God Universe, to share in prayer or while out in nature.

Do these things and you will create emotional depth and nuance, creating an emotional security that will serve you well in all situations.
