The blog has mostly been cleared out, save for a few posts that have VPN information or some discord things where people could hang out. I also left my announcement concerning who I am because, well, I have no interest in hiding. Cat is out of the bag.

Now, the future of this blog. That is a little more complicated. Black Cat and I are going to have to use our discretion on posts. I think a general rule is we can't be as trusting as I have been in the past.

That being said -- mistakes can and will happen. You cannot treat us as infallible gods. We will make mistakes. Sending hate anons in because we approve something that either you don't agree with or because we misread something as positive when its a hidden negative does not help.

We are open to criticism. If you see a name mentioned of someone who does not wish to be talked about, even on a positivity blog -- send us a DM. Your identity will be kept private and we can remove the post. A simple "hey, A actually doesn't want to be talked about." Can go a longer way than a "Do better. How dare you not know A doesn't want to be talked about?"

We do not know everyone. We also are not privy to everyone's private lives and private dramas. We are doing our best with what we have while trying to be neutral and impartial. Please know, WE DO NOT KNOW MOST OF THE PEOPLE MENTIONED! We don't know who has problems with who or any of that.

Speaking for myself (Peachy), being considered a popular page is VERY new to me. I have existed on the outskirts of roleplay for YEARS. And when people do say I am popular, I get confused. Me? Are you serious? So, when it comes to these other big names, I still don't know them. Or all their aliases. Are they on my friends list? Maybe? Honestly, I have no idea. I accept anyone unless I know them to be detrimental to my own mental health. I'm just a roleplayer doing my best and trying to be friendly.

We will continue to spread a positive message.

I recently returned after a long hiatus and some soul searching. I honestly thought after 'things' that happened? No one would want anything to do with me. But logging back in and seeing people actually wanting to not only continue old stories, but people re-adding me? Old and new friends wanting new SLs? My heart is full.

DNS Clearing and IP Addresses

I saw this posted on @roleplaypositivity and thought it might be of some help and did it myself so I am passing it along, with a little bit of further info too. First, the post.

🔻 Okay, so now, here is what it looks like when you do that. 🔻

Go to Search bar, or the magnifying glass in the corner next to your windows logo in the left hand corner of your screen on your laptop or pc. Type just the letters CMND and nothing else. A separate window should pop up on its own that looks like the one in the reference pic that I posted here, with a flashing indicator waiting for you to type something after the words C:\Users\trans> Type in ipconfig/flushdns so the whole thing looks like C:\Users\trans>ipconfig/flushdns and then hit enter and it will do the rest itself. It only takes a few seconds and you can exit out right after.

Now as far as what that actually WAS, that, I'm afraid I am not the most savvy person to explain as things like this are full of technical jargon that is hard to relay, but I did look up a bit of info so you can kinda maybe get a little bit of what it is. The Domain Name System (DNS) turns domain names into IP addresses, which browsers use to load internet pages. Every device connected to the internet has its own IP address, which is used by other devices to locate the device. DNS servers make it possible for people to input normal words into their browsers without having to keep track of the IP address for every website. Yeah, it's IP addresses that people are looking for, and that hackers/viruses are looking for when they want to find your info. Each of us have unique IP addresses. When you connect to the Internet through your Internet service provider (ISP), they assign you an IP address. Your IP address is like a mailing address for your computer on the Internet- it tells Internet traffic where to go and how to connect. Though IP addresses, by design, can be tracked, the purpose is to indicate your location to Internet providers and other devices when you're accessing the Internet. Without this service, they wouldn’t be able to serve their purpose. You'd not be able to connect to the internet at all without them, or you could, just not visit websites. Your IP address doesn’t contain the information necessary to reveal your exact physical location to anyone who may attempt to trace your IP address and find you. In some circumstances, a person may be able to locate the city and general area you’re in, but not your physical address without other types of trackers, some of which are considered illegal as it is an invasion of privacy if you have not given permission for your information to be given. This is why using a VPN, adblockers and other security is so essential, to keep viruses, malware, hackers and would be harassers out of your computer, and just as importantly, out of your business. I compiled some more quick info bits into the pic too. 📝 If anyone has good VPNs they use and want to share in the Archive, or further ways to explain DNS or IPs (or if I got something wrong and need to correct or clarify) then please send in! Hello! This is your resident Peachy here! Now, it’s no secret who I am. (Though it might be. Many of you may have no idea who I am on site xD).

I am the original creator of the blog, and the one who has been running it solo for the past several weeks. I now have an amazing co-admin in my WP and Best Friend.

On site I have several pages, my main and most notable being blackWINGS;; (angelicdeath is my url) where I write as the Vampire Armand from the Vampire Chronicles. Most of my pages fall into that verse, haha. But! I do dabble in a few others and also have a historical account — Anish Sengupta (combatmedic) and a Castlevania account —Sypha Belnades (godhatesme). If you search penned by Eds in the playby you can find all my accounts.

You may call me Peachy, Armand, Eds, or Orange Cat.

Hello Peachy! I've been a lurker/submitter of your blog since it's creation! I'm now the Librarian of The RP Archive! Ever since i discovered this blog. I have never stopped finding the time to come and take a look at what gets shared, and if i can share my own experiences and give a little positivity to those that genuinely wish to share or receive any. I notice the refresh of the blog and I'am rooting for you and your friend, Peachy!

So…

I would like to share, how beautiful and magical roleplay is. The amazing surprises that comes with connecting with others to the point that you form, unbreakable long term friendships. Especially growing together with your writing partner + best friend of 15+ years, give or take.

I've been roleplaying for as far back as i can remember. And it's been a great way to escape the harsh realities of life. As well as aided in learning and understanding phrases and words I would never have known any other way. I can say, that roleplay is bot a stunning hobby and a tool of growth, through knowledge and creativity. Speaking of! The beauty is within the fact that you can create, develop and have your character grow alongside others or more. Here's to a beautiful year of memories and good vibes! This blog is truly inspiring me to once again see the good in other roleplayers - of course, among the new people i have been interacting with in the rp verses I have been vibeing in. Replying to question regarding the site. Is the site safe to use following the attack? Depends on your definition of safe, since the site being back up a few people have seen the malicious code creep into the customisation settings- blog, profile & groups.

Some of the resource pages believe that the attack wasn’t from the people that use the site they believe it was an attack from an “advertiser” on site. The malicious code was a mess, and the lovable lil code nerds that use code to make fun customisation things are much more organised and like their code to be tidy.

Though the site themselves seem insistent on blaming end users.

I have reached out to the site telling them about the concerns I’ve seen people bring up and I’ve brought up my own concerns and theory’s but they are doubling down and blaming end users.

So to answer the question if the site is safe to use, I would say use precautions if you want to use the site. Use adblockers, VPNs and have some kind of antivirus on your devices.

we can only hope the site is safe now, but I’m unsure, I have my doubts but I’ll be using all precautions when I’m on the site.

To my fellow writers, or as I call you all, the People of the Page.

Please consider that our dearest blog owner has created this blog only with loving and positive intentions rather than to enable hateful behavior and rhetoric of the hate blogs. What Armand has done was create a safe space to spread love, appreciation, and positivity. We all could use a positive influence and moments of love and appreciation by those that we interact with and even those we admire from afar.

I have been at his side entirely, knowing he was creating this blog and I will continue to support him endlessly in his selfless act of kindness towards the community.

Regardless, there are those who are either upset that certain members are mentioned, think negatively of the blog, or are sending in disingenuous submissions under the guise of positivity. Anonymous users have taken the time to send submissions speaking poorly of a well-intended blog.

Now, reflect on this. Sending negativity… to a positivity blog. That is absolutely juvenile.

It says more about yourself rather than the owner of the blog who predominantly writes in a niche verse and unaware of every single user that has ever existed. Not everyone is part of his inner circle or his overall environment. He is not an all-seeing god. He is human behind the screen, as we all are. He is a selfless, loving, considerate, and thoughtful human being. I stand by him and have stood by him through thick and thin.

As the saying goes: if you have nothing nice to say, do not say it at all.

Especially not on this blog when the goal is to simply brighten each other’s day after monsoons of negativity, hate speech, and ignorance.

Do better. For the community and for yourself.
